My scenario for example, let’s say a student was doing a math assignment in class. There was a math worksheet that needed to be completed. A student was struggling with the additional problems. That student gets bothered that they can not solve the problem and raises their hand. So then I would go to the student and respond with “ How is it going ( name of student) !” The student would respond by “ I don’t get this or this is too hard.”  I would reply with “ You are really working hard today, keep on trying.”  I let the student know I am going to my desk and coming right back. I then go to one of my bins that has some foam dice and get a mini whiteboard and marker. I then let the student draw an additional sign and an equal sign just like this  (     +       =        ) .  I hand the student the 2 dice. I tell the student to match the dots on the dice to match the math problem. So for example, (6+4=_____.) So the student puts the six dotted dice on the left side of the addition sign and then puts the four dotted dice on the right side of the addition sign. I tell the student to count the dots on the left and right side and that gives them the answer after the equal sign.
