ADAB

The word adab comes from the Arabic word Aadaab, which means respect and politeness

• must have adab in class to gain a

berkah in knowledge

• put Allah SWT as the first reason you study

• students must behave good to teacher and teachers also have to have a good manners in handling students

• being rude to teacher will not give the 'blessed' to the knowledge and most cases you will get bad results in exam

• Allah is one, no one also can be compared to Him

• Allah is the only God worthy of worship

• Foundation in Islam, that adheres to Tawhid principle

• Tawhid means believing in the absolute oneness of Allah

  Surah Al- Ikhlas:

قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ١

Say: He is Allah, the One and Only

2. Belief to the Books

• A clear revelation full of guidance for the goodness of the Muslim Ummah

• The books can be use as a lesson to Ummah to strive for Allah's pleasure

3. Belief in the Angels (Malaikat)

• Angels - Malaikat play a vital role in the universe, acting as Allah's servant and messengers

• As a Muslim, we can not just acknowledging their existence, but also need to understand each of their roles

• It is important for Muslims to know how they influence our spiritual journey in Islam

• Rejecting one prophet means rejecting all the others because we must believe in all the prophets.

• Prophets live to worship Allah, demonstrate His greatness, and set an example for Muslims.

Surah Al- Baqarah ( 2:285)

آمَنَ ٱلرَّسُولُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِن رَّبِّهِ ۦ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۚ كُلٌّ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِ ۦ وَكُتُبِهِ ۦ وَرُسُلِهِ ۦ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّن رُّسُلِهِ ۦ ۚ وَقَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۖ غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ

ٱلْمَصِير

The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers. "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of His messengers." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys."

2. Belief In Qada' & Qadar

   Qada : Allah’s decision about everything that happens in the universe

   Qadar : everything happens according to Allah’s plan and wisdom

Advantage of believing in Qada' & Qadar

i. Eliminate envy and jealousy

ii. Rely on Allah for good fortune

iii. Encourage humility and gratitude.

3. Belief In the Judgement Day

   • Prophet Muhammad commanded Muslims to believe in the Hereafter.

   • All humans will be resurrected on that day.

   • Deeds will be presented to determine whether one enters Paradise or Hell.

     
     

• Ihsan means perfection and excellence

  Eg: i. Doing something will full

  determination

  ii. Performing worship sincerely

  for the sake of Allah

  iii. Having good morals

  
  

Surah Al- Araf ( 7:56 )

وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا وَٱدْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Do no mischief on the earth, after it hath been set in order, but call on Him with fear and longing (in your hearts): for the Mercy of Allah is (always) near to those who do good

• By practicing Ihsan, a Muslim can strengthen their relationship with Allah SWT

ESCATOLOGY

• Knowledge about the Hereafter and the end times of the world

• The day of resurrection from the grave, and every person will be gathered at Masyar

• The day of reckoning for the deeds and sins for every people

• Reward of entering the Paradise or punishment by getting into the Hell

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN IHSAN AND ESCATOLOGY

1. Ihsan strengthen our faith because we believe that Allah is always watching our actions

2. Purifying intentions to do everything sincerely for the sake of Allah

3. Resilience in faith, meaning not easily led astray or deceived by worlds temptations

Etiquette Towards Parents:

I. Showing Respect Through Words

• Speak with kindness

• Do not complain

II. Obeying Parents' Instructions

• Follow all their instructions, except those that go against Islam

III. Expressing Gratitude to Parents

• Always say thank you to them

• Help parents with household chores

• Pray for their health and well-being

  اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْلَنَا ذُنُوْبَنَا وَلِوَالِدِيْنَا وَارْحَمْهُمْ كَمَا رَبَّوْنَا

  صِغَارًا

2. Adab with Neighbours and Society

• Treat neighbors with respect because they are the first ones to offer help

• Appreciate neighbors by doing good deeds, such as exchanging home-cooked meals

It is mentioned in Hadith: - The Messenger of Allah, (Peace and Blessings be upon him) says: "He is not a believer who eats his fill whilst his neighbour beside him goes hungry"

3. Adab As a Student

• Always be grateful for the opportunity to continue studying

• Respect teachers because they are the ones who impart knowledge

• Attend classes with humility and a willingness to learn

• Intend to seek knowledge for the sake of Allah SWT

• Avoid arrogance in the pursuit of knowledge

• Muhammad said "Islam is to testify that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give zakat, to fast during Ramadhan, and to perform pilgrimageto the Kaaba if you are able to do so"

Then he said; "Tell me about faith (Iman)"

• Muhammad SAW said, "It is to believe in Allah, His Angels (Malaikat), His Books (Kitab), His Messengers (Rasul) , the Last Day, and to believe in divine decree, both good and bad"

Signs of Qiyammah

Muhammad SAW said, "That the slave woman will give birth to her mistress, and you will see barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings"

Then he left, and Muhammad SAW said to Umar, "O Umar, do you know who the questioner was?" Umar said, "Allah and His Messenger know best" Then Muhammad SAW said, "It was Jibril. He came to teach you your religion"

From Hadit Jibril we can get the Adab of Seeking Knowledge:

1. Always refer to the knowledgeable person

2. Don't hesitate, afraid or shy to ask

3. Don't afraid to say "I don't know"

1. Definition

   •Often translated as wisdom or philosophy in English

Different scholars' interpretations

Rabi bin Anas: fear of God

Ibn Zayd: comprehension of Allah's commands

Ibn Qutaiba: blend of knowledge and action

2. Relationship Between Ḥikmah and ʿIbādah (Worship)

Engaging in sincere worship cultivates inner qualities like humility and devotion

3. Hikmah in Islam

الحِكْمَةُ ضَالَّةُ المُؤْمِنِ فَحَيْثُ وَجَدَهَا فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا

Hadith: “Wisdom is the lost property of the believer...” (Jami’ al-Tirmizi, 2687)

Emphasizes that Muslims should seek wisdom wherever they find it

4. Objective of Hikmah in Islam

i: Deepen understanding of religion.

ii: Encourage living according to Islamic teachings by cultivating inner values

5. Definition of Niyyah

   •the intention behind acts of worship

Correct niyyah requires: Sincerity, purity, clarity, focus and consistency

6. Definition of Amal (Actions)

•Refers to good deeds and acts of worship such as salah, zakat, fasting, hajj and kindness

•Must be done with the right intention and consistency

•Good actions benefit both the individual and the wider community

My part was to explain about the Hikmah of showing good Akhlaq to Parents and Family Members. So the Hikmah are:

1) Strengthen Understanding

• Kind and clear communication avoids conflicts

• It helps to bring hearts together in love and unity

2) Gain Respect from Family Members

• When you help out at home without being told like cleaning or setting the table, people will see that you’re responsible

• Your parents and siblings will trust and respect you more

°Hadith (Tirmidhi)

> “The best of you are those who are best to their families…”

This shows how much Islam values family love, respect, and kindness. It’s not just about how you treat strangers or friends, but it is your family that matters the most

Reflection🪞

"How do I treat my family at home?"

• Words can either heal or hurt. Speaking kindly shows respect

• In Islam, we are taught to never speak harshly to parents and to use soft words, even when we’re angry or corrected

Improvement🌱

• Speaks nicely to our parents and avoid using harsh words

• Use more words like "I am sorry", "Thank you" and "Please" more often

My part was in sympathy.

When we are fasting, we can make ourself more sympathy towards other people. For example:

1. Humble

   When one fasts and experiences hunger, it fosters a deeper understanding of the daily struggles of those who do not have enough food. This builds a bridge of emotional connection and concern for others

2. Patience

   By enduring discomfort during fasting, a person becomes more patient and understanding toward the struggles of others

3. Gratitude

   Fasting helps people appreciate the blessings they usually take for granted. This realization often leads to greater sympathy for those who lack those same blessings

Reflection🪞

Fasting helps us understand the pain of those who go hungry every day. It makes us more thankful for the food and comfort we usually have. Through fasting, we learn to be more patient, humble, and caring. It reminds us to think of others, show kindness, and never take my blessings for granted

Improvement🌱

We become more grateful for the things they usually take for granted, like food and comfort. We will start to feel more empathy for those who are hungry or in need.

Khusyu’: a state of humility and focus in prayer, essential for spiritual success

Surah Ta-Ha verse 14:

“Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, si worship Me and edtablish prayer for My remembrance”

The virtues:

1. al-ta’ah (submission/loyalty)

   • shows total obedience to Allah’s commands

   • bowing and prostration in salah signify submission

   • reflection: salah reminds us of our purpose and servitude to Allah

2. al-jihad (struggle in the path of Allah)

   • overcoming distractions to maintain focus

   • reflection: daily prayers strengthen our resolve to face life’s struggles with patience

3. muhasabah (reflection)

   • salah is the time for self-reflection and seeking forgiveness to Him

   • evaluating our actions and intentions before Allah

   • reflection: encourages to purified heart and a clear conscience

4. tawaddu (humility/humbleness)

   • physical acts like bowing and prosration demonstrate humility

   • removes arrogance and instills gratitude

   • reflection: develops a humble attitude in daily interactions

5. iffah (modesty/self-restraint from sinful behavior)

   • avoidance of sinful behavior and desired

   • reminder of Allah’s prsence fosters modesty in thoughts and actions

   • nurtures self-descipline and moral integrity

   • reflection: a barrier agains sins and wordly distractions

conclusion🪢

Muslims pray with khushu’ to strengthen connection with Allah, follow His guidance, and make worship sincere and meaningful. Khushu brings focus, peace, and humility, turning prayer into a true act of devotion rather than just a routine. It reflects the believer’s love, respect, and mindfulness toward Allah

Usrah has helped me grow spiritually. It taught me the importance of living with purpose and staying true to Islamic values. The bond with my fellow group members gave me a sense of belonging and reminded me that we are stronger together in faith. Most importantly, Usrah reminded me that I am not alone in my journey. Being surrounded by individuals who share the same purpose and who support one another in becoming closer to Allah gave me strength and comfort.

   • role play or drama to act out scenarios based on Islamic history can be fun!

2. Real life topics

   • Choose topics that connect with us (youth issues) like mental health, social media, love and relationships, stress, or career paths through an Islamic lens
