Title: Climate Chaos
By: Doris Molero

Description: This digital painting depicts a chaotic and stormy scene with lightning bolts, hurricanes, and floods. In the center of the painting. The style is surrealistic, with bold colors and dramatic brushstrokes. The artist who inspired this AI-generated work is Salvador Dali. This painting relates to our lesson on the impact of climate change on polar regions.

Prompt: a painting that shows the impact of climate change on the Arctic, bold colors, dramatic imagery, sense of urgency, danger, intricate, highly detailed, surrealistic style.

Application: I used the AI-generated art website Dall-E to create this image. It allowed me to manipulate and enhance a photo of the impact of climate change on the Arctic, adding a sense of drama and chaos to the painting.

Why I picked this image: I wanted to show the urgency and danger of climate change, particularly for Artic regions and the ecosystem that lives there. This image shows the power of nature and the fragility of life in the face of climate chaos. I also love the surrealistic style, which adds to the sense of disorientation and unease in the image.

What I learned from this experience: I learn a lot about climate change and its effects on the world. I also learned vocabulary related to arts. I had the chance of being creative and be aware of this serious problem.

The style is retrofuturistic, featuring dark and misty jungle hues along with vibrant green colors to represent live nature, as well as a touch of yellow to symbolize the typical bulldozer. This AI-generated work was inspired by the renowned Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, and it pertains to our lesson "A new economic model for protecting tropical forests."

Prompt: Caterpillar bulldozers and ruins are covered by lianas in a dark and misty deforested rainforest, as depicted in this painting by Simon Stålenhag.

Application: I created this image using the AI-generated art website, Dall-E. I chose this platform because it is user-friendly, offers a vast selection of design examples, and enabled me to effectively convey the message I wanted to send.

Why I picked this image: I aimed to convey a message of hope by showcasing the possibility of nature repairing itself in just a few years if we cease deforestation activities in tropical rainforests and recognize that they are worth more alive than dead. However, I also wanted to spread awareness of the fact that we are approaching a tipping point that could potentially mark the end of humanity as we know it today because nature will go on with or without us.

What I learned from this experience: Through this experience, I gained a new perspective on the core of the deforestation problem in tropical forests and devised interesting proposals on how to resolve it, including the use of a carbon emission market. Additionally, I learned how to use AI-generated art to effectively communicate my ideas through imagery.

Title: "Where's Home?"

By: Agustín Nazzi

Description: This painting depicts the view from a large window, with a popular bird from Jujuy's rainforest perched on a leafless tree. The toucan's eyes reflect a deep sense of fear, loneliness, and uncertainty, capturing the bird's question of "Where's home?" The painting invites viewers to contemplate what home means to them, both as a physical place and as a state of mind.

Prompt: The view from a large window. A toucan is standing on a leafless tree, flooded with feelings of fear, loneliness, and uncertainty. It is a stormy, dark night with thunder in the background. The photo is taken with a realistic long shot.

Application: Initially, I used Lexica Art because the examples I saw were very realistic, which is exactly what I was looking for. After trying many times, I couldn't find what I had imagined, so I decided to switch to Dall-E, which offered excellent service and a book with many examples to help users. Finally, I used the correct prompt, and the best image appeared.

Why I picked this image: As a child, I always had breakfast in my kitchen, admiring the view of a tree full of toucans with the sunrise in the background. These birds represent not only my home, but also many memories. As they are very important to me, I wanted to show how they might live in the future without a home. After changing the prompt many times, this image captured my heart instantly.

What I learned from this experience: Listening to the TED talk and creating this picture made me reflect on what's happening around the world and especially in my city. It helped me become concerned about the environment and all the rainforest species. I also learned to use AI-generated art to express my feelings and thoughts creatively.

Title: Dying Forest

By Liliane

Description: It is a digital painting that depicts a poisoned scene with dark tree trunks, leafless tree shades, and poisonous water in a sump with surrealistic light in the background. It is a chaotic, depressive scene and the atmosphere is hostile to life. The painting is made of dirty unhealthy green colors with many gradations. You can’t find any life due to climate change and air pollution!

Prompt: watercolors, black and white, swamp, shadowy destroyed trees, dripping, infected, creepy green water stream

Application: I created this image using the AI-generated art website lexica.art. I like this platform because it allows me to create a design of pictures I’ve imagined in my mind befördert. It is easy to use and it works fast.

Why I picked this image: I live in northern Europe with its beautiful landscapes full of diversity and great green forests. We peer at the rainforests, which are in big danger because of deforestation, illegal land grabbers, and fire, set by livestock farmers or farmers for monoculture cultivation. But we don’t want to see the problems of our forests: they are burning, because of heat and lack of water. They’ve been getting weak because of climate change and aren’t able to fight back the bark beetles, that are destroying whole landscapes. We have to take care! Every small step counts! We all have to preserve our forests for our children.

What I learned from this experience: I learned a lot about the rainforest, its ecosystem and diversity, and its central role on our planet. I’m feeling very helpless when I hear about the problems, the rainforest has. But there are also people and companies, who fight against deforestation and have solutions. We learned new vocabulary and talked about programs like LEAF for saving rainforests.
