On 7/3/18 we have learned about the synaptic works. The video sent by lecturer was so clear about how does the action potential takes place on synapse. There are excitatory synapse and inhibitory synapse. I have learned about the advantage of the both synaptic works. The main function of synapse is to send signal transmission through the synaptic terminal. I get to know detail about the presynaptic membrane, postsynaptic membrane, axon terminal , dendrites , doctrine protein ae involve in the synapse action. The explanation given by our lecturer with a diagram was very meaningful.

on 14 March 2018 we learn new topic about animal physiology that is about sensory system. I am learn about eyes and tongue physiology. I like how prof start the lecture by asking question, it make me need to think and make the class fun. By the end of this subtopic i am able to explain the photoreceptor and mechanical receptor. Prof make us wondering what new thing that we will learn today by asking question at the beginning of the lecture, she asked us what type of cell in slide 1 powerpoint for chapter 3 and make us google it. She also make us work in group and discuss about the task given and presented it. By having this 2 ways communication between lecturer and student, it increase my knowledge and correct what i had been misunderstanding.

On 14/3 /18 we learned about the nervous organaization. The pheripheral nervous system consists somatic nervous system and autonomic nervous system. The symphatic nervous system occurs in pair. For example, acceleration heart beat. Simultaneously, parasymphatic nervous system work in pair to low down the heart beat. We also learned about the sensory mechanisms. We identifed a new cell of eye which is rod shape. There are sveral types of sensory receptors such chemoreceptors, pain receptors. Dr explained clearly about the location of each receptors. The most interesting part was we learned about four different taste. We were excited to know detail how the tastes are released and we coulf feel it. For the first time, we get grp work, worked together with partners and shared our thoughts.

I felt nervous when dr sit with us in group together. We were given a greater opportunity to share our experiences along three years in this field. There are several things we discussed such as commitment in group, express idea on time, be fair in dividing th etask, reminding, punishment, use device wisely. I hope we will follow this suggestion for 7 weeks to go.

Ain Shahirah Bt Zailan 3. Each students need to respond on the followings: i. What can you reflect from the video? From my view, the respiratory system is very important to us since it help to keep alive. Breathing happen automatically and occurs because of the respiratory system. ii. Can you describe the process of breathing? For the 1st video that is The Respiratory System it explain about the body has to breathe air in order to stay alive. The definition of respiration process is when we breathe in oxygen and we breathe out carbon dioxide. Breathing happen automatically and occurs because of the respiratory system which is include nose, throat, voice box, windpipe and lungs. At the top of respiratory system, the nostril bring air into the nose where its filtered, warmed and moistened. They have tiny hairs called ‘cilia’ to protect the nasal passageways and other parts of the respiratory tract and filter out dust and other particles that enter the nose through the breathed air. Then the trachea as the main windpipe, Bronchi: that is, a left and right one that split off from the trachea to feed each lung, Bronchioles: These tiny tubes branch off from the bronchi, extending throughout all of your lungs, Alveoli: These are the tiny air sacs that connect to each bronchiole. Blood passes through here, exchanging fresh oxygen from the air for carbon dioxide to be carried back out and exhaled and Diaphragm: this is your primary breathing muscle, located at the base of your chest. When we exercise, the body needs more oxygen, to feed the muscles as they work harder. The body responds by breathing more quickly more quickly and deeply. As the cells of the muscles use up more oxygen, the lungs have to work harder to keep up the supply. The respiratory system then speeds up to supply the body with much- needed oxygen and also to get rid of the carbon dioxide waste in the system. Over time, exercising also helps our shest cavity to get bigger which enables the body to increase the amount of air it takes in. more capillaries from around the air sacs so the body gets better at swapping oxygen and carbon dioxide gases. The respiratory system help the body to move and is influenced by regular and ongoing physical activity as well.

From what I learned, I can conclude that circulatory system carries oxygen rich blood to all parts of our body. Blood passed through the tissues via the capillaries, chemicals are transported between the blood. The interstitial fluid bathes the cell. The circulatory system can be divided into two category. The open circulatory system and closed circulatory system.

Open Circulatory System
1.Blood and Interstitial fluid are same.
2. The pharynx fuction in digestion and respiration. There is oesophagus which lead the food to the stomach. The traches is for air. The trachea is surrounded by epiglotis. The epiglotis covers the air only the passage when we swallow. This prevent liquid and food going to the lung. The larynx called the voice box located at top of trachea. The walls of wind pipe are made up of stiff ring of cartilage that keep it open. The traches is also lined with tiny hair to sweep foreign particles from entering the lungs.

Process of breathing
Air is taken into the body by nostril. The respiratory organ covered by fine surface whuch the oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange takes place. The structure of oxygen increases the surface area so that can contact with the oxygen rich atmosphere. There are passages takes air into the organ. Nostril contains fine hair, that lines the passages, and lined with mucus. The fine air filter out the dust, microorganisms and dirt. Mucus traps the dirt and facilitates smooth flow of moist air. The throat called as wind pipe or traches is surrounded by ring of cartilage. The ring of cartilage prevents the air passage from collapse. If ring cartilage are absent, the pressure increases during exhalation on compression of ribcage and windpipe, which will close the restricts air flow and interfre normal breathing. The traches divided into smaller tubes, and balloons called alveoli. In the aleveoli surface the exchange of gas occur. The alveoli have network of blood capillaries.

During breath In - The ribs lify, diaphragm flattened, chest cavity becomes larger, air flow into the lungs, alveoli filled with air, Then blood carries carbon dioxide, from all parts of the body and released into the alveoli. The respiratory system main function is transporting air into and out of the lungs and protect our body from inhaled particles. The respiratory system components are nasal cavity - nose- oral cavity-tongue-pharynx-larynx-oesophagus-trachea-bronchi-bronchioles-alveoli-diaphragm.During breathig the air is forced into the nose and mouth. The conchae in nose help to trap the air particles. The air passes through the pharynx and trachea. The epiglottis in the trachea prevent food from flowing into the lungs. The food will flow through the oesophagus. The air continuosly passed through the bronchi to bronchioles and to the alveoli. The alveoli surrounded by network of capillaries.the oxygen will enter into alveoli. The exchange of gas occur. The capillaries in alveoli gives away the carbon dioxide and take up oxygen. The carbon dioxide exhale through the air pathway. During breathing process the diaphragm contract during inhale and relaxed during exhale. The minor disorders from respiratory is the common cold fluenza, acute bronchities, pneumonia. To maintain healthy respiratory system, maintain a healthy weight, drink plenty of water and follow a healthy diet.

Repiration can be divided into two components. Cellular respiration that occur in mitochondria and external respiration. The main function of respiraion system is to supply oxygen, regulates blood hydrogen ion, concentration of ph, abd defends against microbes.Human respiratory system made up of nasal passage, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lung, heart and ribs. During inspiration, contraction of external intercostal muscle, and contraction of diaphragm occurs.During expiration, relaxation of external intercostal muscle and diaphragm returns to its original position occurs. Spirometry is used to study the lung ventilation. It record movement of air in and out of the lungs.Pulmonary volumes can be classified into tidal volume, inspiratory reserve volume, expiratory reserve volume, residual volume. The exchange of gas in alveolus involves both pulmonary capillaries and tissue capillary for simple passive diffusion of carbon dioxide and oxygen.Carbon dioxide transported in the blood via three ways such as dissolved in plasma, bound to haemoglobin, and as bicarbonate ion. With asthma there is inflammationof the air passages that results in a temporary narrowing of the airways that carry oxygen to the lungs. This results in asthma, symptoms, including coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. If it is severe, asthma can result in decreased activity and inability to talk. Some people refer to asthma as 'bronchial asthma'
