1. Make a statement abiding by the HFC integrity policy.

I hereby abide by the HFC integrity policy. I am capable of doing my work and don't depend on someone else to do my work. Even if it means it will make it more convenient. Doing my OWN work makes me proud of myself, knowing I did it. When someone completes their own work, it brings more meaning to the assignment knowing it is coming from them. Completing my work shows my dedication and strive for academic success. I believe that cheating is wrong and dishonest. When a person cheats on an assignment no matter how minor or major it is, it will still be dishonest. Instead of cheating, reach out to your professor to explore alternative options. It is never wrong to ask for help, but don't mix it up with academic dishonesty.

For the first exam, I got a score of "SIE".

On the first exam, I scored the highest in the social-occupational interest. I ranked high in the social area with a score of 28.

Something I learned from this exam is that I'm a person who likes to work in a social environment. I do not like to be locked up in a tiny cubicle answering phones all day and doing paperwork. Having a job that includes social interaction and seeing people is what I strive for. Working in healthcare or even as a teacher seems ideal for me. I feel that it's healthy to surround yourself with people. In this way, you are expanding your knowledge about things you didn't know before. You are also forming connections with new people everyday who can be lifelong friends! Ever since I was little I have been a social butterfly. May I even say a non-stop talking machine.

What a coincidence! I score "SIE" on this exam too! I guess I might've had similar answers for both :).

The highest I scored for this exam was in the social section with a score of 10! can you believe it?

The second thing I learned while doing these exams is that for me to be happy in a career, I must like the environment I'm in. This exam gave me a recommendation for nursing and middle school teacher as future jobs. What's even crazier is that I'm in the nursing program. My goal is to create a safe environment for my patients. I just don't want to be their nurse. I want to be the person who will tell them everything will be okay. When I was younger I wanted to also be a teacher. Looking back at it, I had the same goal. Often, kids are neglected at home and their only fun time is at school. I wanted to create a place for these kids to have fun and be themselves.

3. Chapter 10 "flow"

I experience "flow" when I cook. The process of making food and plating it is what relaxes me. I love to cook for others to see their reaction. Cooking is a passion that runs deep inside me. I first realized I had a passion for cooking when I began my teen years. It all started with me cooking mac n cheese. I know it sounds a bit "cheesy" but I loved the process of being independent enough to cook something for myself besides ramen whenever I got hungry. After a while, I expanded my knowledge and started making more complex dishes such as steak and potatoes. When I'm at the grocery store, I like to handpick my produce, ensuring I have the best quality. I know this is kind of off-topic, but I experience "flow" when I drink a coffee with large amounts of espresso in it. There is nothing better than a cup of coffee and a book to start your morning! Now since I'm almost 20, I feel almost prepared for the future as I know one essential part of life is to nourish your body with healthy food.

4. Ch. 13 &14

1. After reading ch. 13 I learned to live a long life you must stay healthy. Being healthy by exercising and eating right can prevent memory loss. On page 370, in the section "scanning the facts" the textbook speaks about adults becoming older, and as time passes, so does their memory of things. To combat this issue, a good idea would be less screen time and more book time. Allowing yourself to exercise your mind is crucial for development. Also, exercising every day for 60 minutes improves your health and mind at the same time, isn't that fascinating?

Ch. 14 speaks about chronic disease and how it's often normal for aging on page 395. As one becomes older, their bodies begin to change and this is NORMAL. However, sometimes these changes might have mutations on the way and that is okay. I learned that chronic disease lasts a lifetime as I have a chronic disease called ulcerative colitis. I got diagnosed almost 2 years ago. I struggled with the idea that I was going to have this condition forever. However, as time passed I was able to mature into the idea of it. After I finished this chapter I related a lot to it and made me look at my condition differently.

5. The real age quiz

For starters, I actually scored 1 year and 3 months younger than my actual age. I found that to be a little weird, but looking back at my answers I agree with it.

One thing I learned from this quiz is that my eating habits are terrible. Recently, I have been buying so much subway and fast food that I've been getting out of shape. I stopped cooking my own meals, so right now I'm not even tracking my own calories while eating. Starting today I'm going to strive for change, I've been drinking more soda than usual too. I used to only drink black coffee and lemon water. From now on, I will adopt better cooking habits and bring homemade meals to my lunch break instead of getting Subway.

Another thing I learned is I became less active. Ever since I quit my restaurant job and became a receptionist I realized I became sedentary. This has caused me to gain some weight and I am quite embarrassed. However, I do plan on making a gym membership this weekend. By doing this quiz, it has opened my eyes and made me realize that I need to become better and healthier.

6. Living to 100!

I just completed my exam and It is said that I will live to 100! Wow, I didn't expect this.

I learned when taking this exam that I have great habits that most people don't have. For example, I didn't notice I worked out a lot. I walk my dog every day for 30 minutes. Having regular cardio can increase blood flow and give you a healthier heart. However one thing I did notice is that I'm constantly being exposed to second hand smoke. My family smokes a lot and you can get cancer just by being around it.

The second thing I learned is that I should focus on cooking my meals. At home, you know what is going on inside your food and how it's being prepared. Fast food places often include extra fats that keep you off track. Cooking your own meals will lead to a healthier life style.

7. Adolescents

The adolescent's stage is the most important in life, as this stage is one step closer to becoming an adult. During this time frame, both boys and girls go through puberty. Also, during this time, teenagers will want to become more indepandent from their parents. This will cause some problems to arise as parents may not be ready for change. On page 270 of the textbook, it talks about children progressing into adolescents and becoming more rebellious. This is normal as every teenager is expected to go through this phase. It may be hard for parents to adjust to this new stage in life, but it is important to let go while holding on. Letting go is an essential part of a child's development. In this way, you are encouraging your teen to try new things and not to be scared. Letting them spread their wings will create more opportunities for them to learn. Once they transition into adulthood, they will already have went through many things in life and be prepared. This whole stage is about learning new things.

To start, this is the first summer class I've ever taken and I loved it! In many ways this class was much different than any other online classes I have taken. For example, you made yourself available night and day for your students. I have not met a professor who has done this for anyone. You made class fun with all the projects that were assigned. I loved this padlet project as well as the canva project we did. The class was never boring even though it was all online. I like how you are a professor, but at the same time, you are a friend. Every time I would attend your office hours you would ask me about my day when no one else did. I was able to speak to you about nursing school and my day in general. By far, you have been such an understanding professor and I would not want it another way. I think that this class was perfect.
