How they depicted / described the atom<br>Dalton depicted the atom through his Atomic Theory.&nbsp;<br>He described the atom as things that could be neither created nor destroyed. He described atoms as each having a particular size and mass. He described them as circular solid spheres.<br>2. (Picture above)&nbsp;<br>3. The conclusion was that he proved Democritus's atomism as purely theoretical and found out that the atoms are all different, can create different elements, and can be neither created nor destroyed. </div>]]></description>

How he depicted / described the atom<br>He depicted the atom through an experiment and the Thomson Model.<br>He described atoms as consisting of largely empty space with a few electrons. He described that there was most of the mass in the center which he named the nucleus.<br>2. (Picture above)<br>3. Details of the experiment<br>He shot small positively charged alpha particles at a sheet of gold foil. The atoms thinly dispersed positive charge would not be enough to deflect the particles in any one place. The effect would have been like a bunch of tennis balls punching through a thin paper screen. Most of the particles passed through but some bounced back. This suggested that the foil was more like a thick net with a very large mesh.&nbsp;<br>4. The conclusion is that atoms consisted largely of empty space with a few electrons and most of the mass was concentrated in the center.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
