I'm Sydne! I am from Sanger, Texas. I am in my fourth semester at the University of Arkansas studying Elementary Education. Since I was a little girl I have dreamt of going to UArk and being a razorback! This had been my biggest dream since elementary school and I have been so blessed! I love all things Razorback athletics, and you can catch me at almost any game!

Why I Want to be a Teacher!

Throughout my schooling I was fortunate to have caring teachers and coaches who poured into me and helped me fall in love with school and learning. Mrs. Pennington (above) was one of the most influential women in my formative years. She has encouraged me from the time I was learning to tie my shoes in kindergarten to my first semester of college when I had the opportunity to observe her classroom for a school day. I hope one day I can be as great of an influence on just one of my students as Mrs. Pennington has been for me!

Working with kids!

Since I was 15 I have had the opportunity to work with all ages of kids. Whether it was babysitting, softball lessons, substituting, or working in a daycare, you name it and I was there. Working in the daycare and watching the kids I was with everyday for months on end showed me how rewarding it was to watch them all grow and develop into their own person.

My Future Plans!

I am on track to graduate in 2027 with my bachelors degree. After that I will be moving back home in Texas to hopefully work at my elementary school as a second grade ELA teacher. I am considering getting my masters degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and possibly pursue becoming a principal.
