         <description><![CDATA[<div>According to CDC, a pregnant person with chlamydia can give the infection to their newborn during childbirth.  Chlamydia can also cause a potentially fatal ectopic pregnancy.  If chlamydia is left untreated, this can cause preterm labor and ruptures of membranes.  Any exposed newborns can develop eye and lung infections.  Low birth weight is also possible.</div>]]></description>

Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common bacterial sexually transmitted pathogen worldwide. This type of bacteria is unique in that it behaves like a virus by relying on a human host to survive and replicate. It can affect both me and women. The bacteria can be passed from one person to another through vaginal, anal, or oral sex.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sometimes, Chlamydia can show no symptoms at all.&nbsp; According to Planned Parenthood, if you are experiencing symptoms such as pain while peeing, pain during sex, abnormal discharge, you should get tested.&nbsp; With men, this can cause swelling in one or both testicles.&nbsp; It's rare but, chlamydia can also cause irritation and redness in eyes. Symptoms may not appear until several weeks after you have sex with an infected partner.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>        In women, if this infection is left untreated, it can spread to the uterus and fallopian tubes.&nbsp; This can cause pelvic inflammatory disease which can also lead to infertility and pelvic pain. It's rare that men have health problems from Chlamydia. In some cases, chlamydia can infect the epididymis, which is a tube that carries the sperm. If left untreated, this can increase risks of getting HIV in both men and women.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chlamydia can usually be treated by oral antibiotics. A patient will be given a 7-day antibiotic known as Doxycycline or a single dose of Azithromycin. This is the most common treatment for Chlamydia.  A person who is diagnosed with chlamydia should restrain from any sexual activity for 7 days.  This should allow the infection to clear up in a week.</div>]]></description>
