Thus, the increase in 16s rRNA gene copy number (Fig 2a) which is a surrogate of biomass, can contribute to the higher mean daily fecal weight seen with the MBD (Fig 4a). Additionally, a proportion of the additional weight is attributed to the increase in 16s rRNA gene copy number (biomass). </p>]]></description>
