I understand why people are upset, but I don't understand why some are choosing to hurt individuals who are equally upset. I'm not quite sure how to ensure that our students glean knowledge  from these experiences that will positively impact their behavior moving forward. I do know that we must give them a voice and allow them to be angry and afraid in a safe place. We must attend to their social emotional needs and use that energy to propel them forward. We must encourage them to utilize these emotions as tools to fuel their desire to become the change that is necessary to create systemic change that will perpetuate equitable successes as we all continue to grow.

I feel lost in a role where I'm so removed from children that it's difficult to feel/see/experience my impact. I feel frustrated at the pace in which internal and external change is/isn't being addressed.
