 The Federal Government declared Queensland a natural disaster zone. They have a policy called the Disaster Recovery Allowance which is an amount of money the government gives to people to help them recover from the disaster. They gave $1000 to each adult and $400 to each child under 16 for those who had been 'significantly affected' by Cyclone Debbie.

The government also provides social workers and can organise people like army reservists on the ground to help those who need assistance.

SES (State Emergency Services) 
The SES focuses on the safety of the individuals and the community. They can provide assistance wherever it's needed, for households or businesses, such as providing tarps, re-roofing or sandbagging. They have trained volunteers who can help with emergency situations. They work with other government officials to coordinate the response to Cyclone Debbie.
