Yes they should be protected by the endangered species act because wolves are like humans the parents have to protect their young ones because without their parents the baby’s would be lost. Just like us and our parents, without our parents in our life we wouldn’t know what to do. Another reason that they should be protected is because without wolves being a large part of the ecosystem the ecosystem would be all messed up because they are predators and without them the ecosystem would be messed up.

The final reason is because wolves kills are good for the soil. A study shows that when a elk was killed by a wolf that the nutrients dramatically enhanced.

There are many different ways that organisms affect each other. For example when the plants stop growing then the preys die and then the predators die than the whole ecosystem goes down. Another example is that if some of the plants stop growing in a pond then the fish that eat the plants are going to die. then when the fish that eat the other fish are going to die which means that there will be nothing left in the pond. An example of Abiotic and biotic is when the temperature goes up the percent of the of the animals go up. When there is two preys that eat the same predator then it becomes a compatiton on who gets the animal that they are fighting over. An example of that is when you have an hawksbill sea turtle and an queen angelfish that both eat sponges then it all depends on who gets the sponge first. The number of young fish can affect the ecosystem because if there are 10 young fish in the ecosystem and 25 Nassau Grouper then the Nassau Grouper will take over the ecosystem.

Through out the past 40 years, population of Elk, Moose, Wolves, and Willow Trees have changed Yellowstone Area. It all started with the wolves, when they kept the elk moving the less willows there became so when there became less willows then the moose would have less to eat and many of them died. In 1979 the population of wolves start to decrease and the population of moose start to increase. After the last wolf died there became more Willow Trees, Moose, and Elk. Now there is 3 times more Elk and the Willow is in much better. But there are also bad things that come with the wolves dying like the aspen trees are dying and it all started when the last wolf died. In 1996 there were 49 colonies and increased to 127 by 2007 when the wolves were reintroduced the population of the beavers decreased to 118 in 2009 and dropped to 112 in 2011.
