How do I see myself in the future?

Actually, that’s the question that has been bugging me lately. As I’m about to step into my senior life, I know that time will pass by quickly. I see myself feeling clueless about what will happen to me in the future. This question may be easy for some people, but for me, it brings fear. I’m scared that everything I imagine myself becoming might turn out the opposite. But there’s one thing I pray for my future self—to be happy. I want her to fulfill every dream she had growing up, without expectations and without the fear of failure. I hope to see her stand up for herself and be as strong as she can be. And lastly, I hope God blesses her with a family. I may be young to say this, but I hope that by the time she reaches 26, she’ll be a baker and have her own family, just like she has always prayed for.

1. What career do I want?

I want to be a baker or a chef because, for me, food is more than just something we eat, it’s a way to show love. Growing up, I watched my family make pastries for us, not just for the sake of baking but because it was our way of taking care of each other. It became a tradition, a silent yet meaningful gesture that said, “I love you” without needing words. For us, cooking and baking aren’t just tasks, they’re acts of love. It’s about making sure everyone gets to eat something warm and comforting, something that makes them feel cared for.

There’s a special kind of joy in creating food, knowing that it will bring a smile to someone’s face. It’s the little things, like watching someone take their first bite and seeing their eyes light up that make it all worth it. And honestly, isn’t it one of the best feelings to come home and see your family gathered around the table, waiting to share a meal? There’s something so comforting about sitting down together, knowing that the food in front of you was made with love. It’s not just about eating, it’s about feeling at home, feeling safe, and knowing you belong. That’s why I want to be a baker or a chef. I want to keep that tradition alive, to create food that makes people feel loved, and to turn something as simple as a meal into a memory worth cherishing.
