Planning-the student teachers are to create thoughtful and student centered plans, using their knowledge of their students and their knowledge of the content. By considering and describing what their students already know; academic level, life experiences, and their personal, cultural, and community assets.
Instruction- The student teachers are required to film and submit unedited clips of them instructing the classroom. They are then asked to discuss how they created a positive learning environment and engaged the students. They are then asked to reflect on what they would have done differently and be able to justify why.
Assessment-The student teachers must now assess themselves by selecting one assessment from the learning segment, submit the evaluation, and analyze whole class and individual student learning.
Each student is given a handbook outlining each of these tasks so they can best prepare.

In the fall of 2013 Stanford University and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education created this program. Though it was originally was called the Teacher Performance Assessment. This was the first time student teachers were given access to a program that would best prepare them for their future career. It also aligns with the Common Core standards and the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium.

What is a co-teaching model of student teaching, and how can it be used for the edTPA?

The co-teaching model of student teachings means for the intern and their cooperative teacher to plan collaboratively and share responsibilities.
* One person teaching while the other observes, assists students, or works with small groups.
* Both teaching as a team or in parallel at different stations.
* Both taking turns with the teaching of particular classes, units, lessons, or activities.
This is great for edTPA because it requires extensive modeling and feedback. It also allows the student teacher to have a sense of confidence because they are instructing on their own but they have their cooperative teacher right there for help.

Consider the location of the camera and where you will be in the frame of the video.
6.) Practice and run through the entire video before actually doing it for real.
7.) Just act natural, it will be easy to see if you are nervous and mindful that you are being recorded.
