Perhaps the most famous Native American event is the Trail of Tears. The European settlers would force millions of Natives out of their homeland forcing them to move away. The journey away was known as the Trail of Tears as many would die or become deathly ill from the trip. This put a great dent in the Native American population, which did not improve relationships between the settlers.
https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/a38083079/native-american-heritage-month-facts/
