Growth Mindset
The ideal graduate has certainly had his/her share of struggles. Such struggles have likely left more questions than answers for him or her, but they have better understanding of what it means to have perseverance, passion, and purpose as a result. Although they know that not all situations and experiences will be ideal, they also have developed respect for learning from negative experiences and using them to their advantage.

Educators can foster this in students by creating a space where students work collaboratively. This collaborative work should include multiple step questions that are open ended. Teachers have a duty to share knowledge without personal opinion about other cultures within the world. They also have a duty to display empathy and understanding to those who are different from themselves, as students will learn from their model. Students should be allowed to express themselves with a variety of tools not just through traditional paper pencil methods. Teachers have a obligation to expose students to life outside their community.
