-Paul K. McClure. 2017. Tinkering with Technology and Religion in the Digital Age: The Effects of Internet Use on Religious Belief, Behavior, and Belonging.
-This article argues that the internet offers a new conceptual reality that might be able to challenge religion by influencing adults' ways of thinking and practicing religion (McClure, 2017, p. 481). The writer has two hypotheses about that topic. Firstly, according to McClure, after the beginning of the 1950s, adults preferred religious experience individually rather than institutionally. The starting to be used of the internet caused a rapid increase in this individual orientation with giving the free choosing options among a variety of religious traditions without being strictly bounded by one of them (McClure, 2017, p. 485). Secondly, McClure claims that the internet caused an increase in the probability of being religiously pluralistic that supports all religions are true (McClure, 2017, p. 488). To prove these hypotheses, a survey for which to understand how the internet impact altering the belief system of adults is made and it shows that adults' devotion to religion and religious exclusion has decreased (McClure, 2017, p. 481).

-This article was chosen to show that the internet has an influence on adults' religious belief systems.

-Quotations:
“Those who spend more time online may be more likely to develop a “problem-solving inventiveness” or “tinkering attitude” that carries over into other aspects of life, including religion.” (McClure, 2017, p. 487).
"I find that Internet use is associated with increases in being religiously unaffiliated and decreases in religious exclusivism." (McClure, 2017, p. 481).
"The Internet—that one is free to choose and tinker with affiliations among various religious institutions—may intensify or map onto broader cultural shifts." (McClure, 2017, p. 485).
-The article has various explanatory experiments on the topic so it is very valuable for the research.

-Claire Kathryn Pescott,2020.“I Wish I was Wearing a Filter Right Now”: An Exploration of Identity Formation and Subjectivity of 10- and 11-Year Olds’ Social Media Use

-In this article Pescott focused on the 13 years old 6 group of children for 8 years. The research shows us children are aware of the danger in social media. However, this can be still harmful for them (Pescott,2020, p.1). It helps them to encourage their friendship and let them socialize more easily. On the other hand, this can end up with “oversharing”. They start to hide behind their screen and start to act like someone else (Pescott,2020, p.1). Since identity formation is easier in childhood this can affect their entire life easily. This also can cause “identity crisis” which can cause with instability and confusion (Pescott,2020, p.1). they are not trying to stick the truth while making their profiles, they try to communicate with reader/audience and showing themselves as audience want (Pescott,2020, p.2).

-The article explain what is the effects of social media on children objectively with researches.

-Quotations:
"social media, is changing the way children and young people socialize(Pescott,2020,p.1)"
"On one hand, young people are described as oversharing by “broadcasting” their lives on social media and, on the other hand, they are seen as becoming socially isolated, awkwardly “hiding behind their screens” and engaging in virtual social interactions(Pescott,2020,p.1)"
"....teens and young people are an especially important group because they are at a transitional period, where they are discovering who they are and who they want to be(Pescott,2020,p.2)"

- has a comprehensive research about childrens social media use

Internet is a platform that enables communication, getting information, gathering friends, or many other features without any limitation (Elsayed, 2021, p. 3). This limitless world has reflections on the identities of individuals in the range of all ages. The understanding of the internet alters and improves, from childhood (Kundanis, 2003, p.5). Thus, individuals of all ages experience and perceive this limitless world differently. For children, the way of getting socialized changed, more cowardly generation of children hiding behind walls has begun to form compared to previous generations (Pescott, 2020, p.1). For the other group, which is adolescents, the internet caused decreasing in achievement in social life, closure themselves to the society leaving aside their true values and living in an internet-addicted status (Elsayed, 2021, p. 1). In the final group which consists of adults, the internet caused alterations in their belief, political and cultural systems. It is seen that as a result of using the internet; the probability of being bonded to a religion and being religiously exclusive decreases for them (McClure, 2017, 493). They become more critical and politicized citizens on basic democratic values (Lei, 2011, p. 300).

2) Researchers suppose that usage of the internet affects the political choice in the elections in this article. They claim that rapid spread and low cost of internet lead to equal conditions to product or access(Falck,Gold ,Heblich, 2014, p.2238). There is more extent information about politics since it is cheaper to produce it but there are also more sources from specific sides since it is cheaper to create a blog or social media account. Authors state that more sources cause the restriction of people to their ideas. For instance, Democrats are following the sources which are specifically for democrats. Other groups are acting in the same way. When the voters pay attention to only their groups, it becomes harder to change their political ideas(Falck,Gold ,Heblich, 2014, p.2239).They work on the sample of different local elections, federal elections, and state elections in Germany. The outcome of the study was exciting. According to the research, voter turnout decreased after the usage of the internet started to be widespread(Falck,Gold ,Heblich, 2014, pp.2241-2244).
3)This article is a interesting example of how the internet is effective in terms of the policy. Since political choices are significant for many adults' life, the influence can cause a dramatic change for these people. Our topic is transformations that are deriving from the usage of the internet. So, we decided to benefit from this source.
4)The article is directly related to our topic and has a very well-developed sample. It can be used as an example source or idea source.
5)Quotations
- "Information can now be distributed at high speed, low cost, and more extensively, bringing more egalitarian access to the production and consumption of information."(Falck,Gold ,Heblich, 2014, p.2238).
- "The Internet may increase or decrease individual exposure to political information, depending on consumers' choice of usage. "(Falck,Gold ,Heblich, 2014, p.2238).
-"...the time an individual spends acquiring information and overall political information might even decrease with the introduction of new media."(Falck,Gold ,Heblich, 2014, p.2238).
