Giovanni Segantini was born in 1858 in Arco, in the Italian part of the Tirolo, into a family with precarious economic conditions. After a few years, Giovanni's mother died and he was entrusted to the care of his stepbrothers, who lived in Milan.

In Milan he led a restless, wandering and solitary adolescence that however brought him closer to the art world. In fact, in Milan, Giovanni attended the courses of the Brera Academy, where he was a Giovanni Bertini's pupil. For him, painting was not just a passion or a profession that brought him notoriety, but it was an important experience on all points of view: a mystical-religious experience where incorporated literary and philosophical inspiration. He was inspired by nature for his painting. The protagonists of his paintings are men with sheep, cows cared for by women. They represent, on one side, a tribute to the tradition of rustic life, and the other side, they become the real protagonists of a symbiotic research with the nature that surrounds them: with snowy peaks, green pastures and blue or cloudy skies. In the end Giovanni Segantini died in 1899 in mount Schfberg.

Caspar David Friedrich was born in Germany, he was a Romantic landscape painter. He is best known for his mid-period allegorical landscapes which typically feature contemplative figures against night skies, morning mists, barren trees or Gothic ruins. His primary interest as an artist was the contemplation of nature, his symbolic work seeks to convey an emotional response to the natural world. The visualisation and portrayal of landscape in an entirely new manner was Friedrich's key innovation, he sought not just to explore the enjoyment of a beautiful view, as in the classic conception, but rather to examine a reunion with the spiritual self through the contemplation of nature. Friedrich was instrumental in transforming landscape in art from a backdrop subordinated to human drama to a self contained emotive subject.

He was born on the 23rd of November in 1955, and he trained at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan.

His music is ambient, meditative and often introspective, drawing in minimalism and contemporary pop. He released his first solo piano album ‘Le Onde’ in 1996. The album is based on the novel ‘The Waves’ by Virginia Woolf.
His next solo piano release, ‘I Giorni’, was inspired by his travels in Africa.
The ‘Elements’, another album, takes inspiration from elements of nature, with the title track epitomizing its exploration of organic growth.
His music is attached to the natural aspects of the world.
Einaudi describes ‘Una Mattina’ by saying “If someone asked me about this album, I would say it is a collection of songs linked together by a story. But unlike my other albums, it doesn’t belong to a time in the past. It speaks about me now, my life, the things around me. My piano, which I have nicknamed Tagore, my children Jessica and Leo, the orange klein carpet that brightens up the living room, the clouds sailing slowly across the sky, the sunlight coming through the window, the music i listen to, the books I read and those I don’t read, my memories, my friends and the people I love.”

Adriano Celentano was born in the 6th January 1938 in Milan. He is an Italian singer, composer, producer, comedian, actor, film director and TV host. He is nicknamed the “Molleggiato” because of his dancing. Celentano has released many record albums which have reached enormous commercial and critical success. One of his most important songs is “Il ragazzo della via Gluck”,which is an Italian pop song by Adriano Celentano, covered by artists from many other countries. The piece is full of autobiographical references, starting with the title that pays homage to the Greek district of Milan where the singer lived with his family, by it is above all a bitter portrait of an unequal struggle, strongly felt at the time. Modern and overbearing, the city extends more and more, up to swallow the countryside, destroying nature and beauty, and forcing its inhabitants to emigrate to work in modern city factories. The text tells of a boy who, with a broken heart, leaves the countryside, his friends, and the life in the open air, to move to the city. His tears not understandable at all, because moving to the city at that time is synonimous of more confortable and emancipated lifestyle.

Lucretius was the first writer to introduce Roman readers to Epicurean philosophy. The poem, written in 7,400 dactylic hexametres, is divided into six untitled books, and explores Epicurean physics through rich poetic language and metaphors.
Lucretius presents the principles of atomism; the nature of the mind and soul; explanations of sensation and thought; the development of the world and its phenomena; and explains a variety of celestial and terrestrial phenomena. The universe described in the poem operates according to these physical principles, guided by fortuna, "chance", and not the divine intervetion of the traditional Roman deities

Ugo Foscolo was born in 1778 on the Greek island of Zakynthos. After his childhood, in 1793 he joined his mother in Venice. Here he stood out for his revolutionary restlessness.
Napoleon's descent into Italy, sparked the political enthusiasm of Foscolo. But when Napoleon gave Venice to Austria, the poet's disappointment was immense.
After this event, Foscolo began to wander from city to city: in Milan, Bologna, Florence, etc.
In 1813, Foscolo moved permanently to Milan. There he grew his fame as a man and poet.
One of his most famous works is the sonnet "a Zakynthos", composed between 1802 and 1803, and it is dedicated to the motherland. The poet remembers the Greek island of Zakynthos in which he was born and exiled, and compares himself with Ulysses, with the difference that he managed to return to his homeland, while the poet never touched the sacred shores.
