won best project for a local QI programme and had poster at IHI conference years ago, I was maybe happy enough at the time, but maybe a bit embarrassed now!! doesn't look great, remember using power point which was frustrating. Maybe still proud of the ace of spade bullet points lol

Won best poster for this at an RCEM case study day, we got help with this one from medical illustration and being a clinical case we had good pictures! At the time I thought it was great, but again looking back could be more visually appealing lol

I have had a few experiences with poster submission and presentation.

I am used to using PowerPoint on A3 setting. However, have been using Canva for other designs recently and find it really user friendly.

Clear guidance notes and structure help the design process.

I try to think of it as:

What was the problem; what did we do; what did we learn, what was the outcome and what will we do next.

Not sure if that's right, but like to simplify it.

I once made an academic poster and presented it in Hawaii of all places (I was very lucky with where the international conference was that year!) - this was over 20 years ago however!

About 9 years ago I had to do another as part of my Diploma to become a paramedic - I have a copy of that one but I'm not uploading it because it was on what I thought (/was taught) Human Factors was and it's terrible... Also, looking at it now, horrid to look at! Loads of text!

I used Powerpoint for the latter, no idea for the first one, but I think same. I think I'll explore Canva that Nina has referenced this time, with ppt as a backup....

I've been giving this lots of thought, I'm not very familiar with poster applications as I'm a PowerPoint pro.

I was thinking of exploring e-learning and the benefits of kinaesthetic 'hands on' learning in the context of classroom based Patient Handling training as my specialist subject in my role as Patient Handling Lead & Clinical Advisor and the reliance on e-learning!

I have no experience of writing an abstract or producing a poster. In Australia it really isnt a requirement in Degrees, not sure about Masters. I hadnt heard of posters until I moved to the UK 8 years ago so this is all new to me. I am sure in a year or two I will also look back and be horrified of what I end up submitting.lol

I can use shapes to make poster in word document. not familiar with posters for hi tech presentation. A bit of power point. There always a starting point. I have learn by doing. I.ll give it a go.
