Maksym Serhiyovych Krypak- is a Ukrainian paraswimmer, Hero of Ukraine, five-time champion and three-time silver medalist of the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, five-time summer champion Maksym was born with a problematic right leg - it is much shorter than his left. He started swimming at the age of six in Kharkiv on the advice of orthopedic doctors. For some time, his parents hid his disability altogether. They made up a story that Maksym simply killed himself, because of which his toe was cut off. He trained with healthy athletes, but later his disability made itself felt more and more and he switched to paraswimming. After the sixth grade, he transferred to the sports boarding school of the Kharkiv School of Physical Culture No. 1, and in 2012 he entered the school itself, taking third place in the ranking of full-time school entrants according to the results of the entrance campaign.According to the results of the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games, he became the most decorated athlete.
