         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs</strong> <strong>- Jennryn Wetzler </strong><br>Jennryn works in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), on a design team called the Collaboratory. The Collaboratory designs, pilots and spreads new approaches to educational and cultural diplomacy initiatives. A returned Peace Corps Niger volunteer with a background in development, Jennryn is thrilled to work in the field of cross-cultural exchanges. She focuses on human centered design, facilitation, and low-bandwidth education using open educational resources (OER) in sub-Saharan Africa.<br><br><strong>Norwegian Digital Learning Arena - Christer Gundersen</strong><br>Christer Gundersen works as the CTO for the Norwegian digital learning arena(NDLA). NDLA develops open educational resources for upper secondary schools in Norway. In 2014 Christer founded the Maarifa Initiative which conducted pilot projects in Uganda and Ethiopia, where the objective was to translate and re-contextualize digital learning resources to local languages.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Meredith Jacob serves as the Assistant Director for Academic Programs at the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property (PIJIP) at American University Washington College of Law. Her work includes academic research, student advising, and public interest intellectual property advocacy. Currently her work includes research and advocacy focused on: open access to federally funded research and education materials; supporting the adoption and creation of open educational resources (OER); and promoting flexible limitations and exceptions to copyright law.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Learning Equality builds educational technology solutions that leverage open-licensed content and low-cost hardware to enable a broad range of NGOs, schools, governments, and individuals to implement programs that improve educational outcomes in their communities. Learning Equality focuses on technology solutions which are optimized to work in areas where Internet access is lacking or costly. Elizabeth Vu is the Implementations Lead for Learning Equality and supports the use of KA Lite, an offline version of Khan Academy, in over 160 countries.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Deanna Del Vecchio works with The Rumie Initiative, a non-profit that makes access to free digital education possible for underserved communities worldwide. Her career in education has included classroom teaching from primary to post-secondary, community-based learning, and teacher training. She draws on her passion for environmental issues and the arts to engage young people in social change. Deanna has led community projects and presented at conferences in North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Africa; and sat on a committee of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO. In her 10 year long association with the organization she has handled various functions including branding, strategy and new initiatives. She has led Pratham Books’ foray into digital products.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Prior to joining Benetech, Terry Jenna, Benetech’s International Program Manager, worked in over 60 countries over the course of three decades, opening markets, introducing ideas, and advocating for change in developing, emerging, and industrialized Asia. She managed staff in 22 nations, and worked for a wide range of enterprises, including UNICEF, where she was the youngest country-level director at age 32. As a consultant, she worked with USAID, DFID, AUSAID, and the European Union among many other multilateral clients. Terry is passionate about serving people with disabilities, as she has a print disability herself. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of San Diego and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology and Counselling from the University of the Pacific and a second Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tulane University.
