I, personally, wouldn't pick pop to be in my top 5 genres to listen to but it seems to be the most popular/well-known genre out there. Most people gravitate towards pop songs since it's played so often on the radios -- its become something they just know. Pop music to me is just repetitive. Most songs have one reoccurring background sound and sometimes the repetition is nice but when it is in almost every song in this genre, it can get a bit annoying. I do find myself listening to this genre every now and then because of how upbeat it usually is but I don't prefer it over most things. Pop used to be good back in the day but now all of the songs sound way too similar, even with the lyrics. They are revolved around the same concepts.
