Which side are you for?

Now that we have analyzed both sides of the argument within the Nez Perce tribe, (leaving and obeying Chief Joseph or staying to fight General Howard's army with the Red Coat Warriors), which side of the argument would support? Why? Does this correlate to your own beliefs and values? If so, which ?

I am for staying and fighting for the land. The native land may be on the US territory its still their land. I think they should stay and fight for their land.

I think they should leave because they could start a new life in a new area.If they fight, I think that the settlers will devour them all and kill them all.

I would fight for freedom, it's not cool that the U.S. is taking over their land. The N.P. could win if they had good strategies like taking their weapons or resources. The U.S. only want the land for wealth but the Nez Perce have been their for many generations. I really think if they are protected enough by spirits and troops they could take the U.S. down. Overall, I would fight.

I support the Nez Perce because they had to get moved by the U.S. government off their homeland to Lapwii and lose all their natural resources and memories

I would follow chief Joseph because I would want to make peace between us even though they want us to move and they are selfish. I also think that we should follow chief Joseph because of some people stay and fight then they might come to lapwai and put the other tribes in danger.

it depends I think Chief Joseph's explanation is better because they have way more warriors and it would be nearly impossible to win but its a trap General Howard want them to die they plan for them to get swept away from the river its a death trap but I think its a better idea to go to the other homeland

Now that the U.S. said that the Nez Perce have to leave I wouldn't because if it was my land I would stay to pertect my land. And if I was in the war and I didn't make I would still love that I stayed and fought for my land.

I'm on chief Josephs side because if we fight the chances of us winning are very slim, also we can lose a lot of land and people of their tribe. Also they can lose natural resources and will have no people to grow their tribe big.

One reason I'm on chief Joseph is that they can start new lives at lapwai. Another reason I'm on chief joseph's side is because They can die from conflict with the U.S. government. These are two reasons I would go with chief Joseph's side.

I would go with the red coats because if you die you die in your homeland and if you went with chief Joseph you could die not on your homeland I rather die on my homeland then some where in the middle of the woods

Honestly, it depends. If we are going to 100% get defeated if we stay, I would leave with Chief Joseph, but if we actually have a chance at winning, I would probably stay with the red coat warriors and fight. It is really risky both ways though.

I would be a red coat and stay and fight for my homeland because I'm not just gonna give it up for nothing in returned. I would also do this because we can upgrade our weapons for our tribe. We could also keep our natural resources our spiritual connection.

I'm on Chief Josephs side because he and his tribe can start a new life, and have a peaceful life. If we fight, the Nez Perce people don't have good weapons to fight, so the chances of winning are low.

If I had to make the choice the follow Chief Joseph or fight with the Red Cote, I would follow Chief Joseph. One reason I would do this is because if you stand and fight, you could die. Another reason is you could make new friends on the new land. Also the solders could pretact the Nez

Perce.

I think that they should listen to Chief Joseph and leave to go to Lapwai. Staying to fight would be way to risky. There are to many soldiers to be able to survive. I think they can make a good homeland at Lapwai.

I think that after looking at both sides I would stay on Chief Joseph's side because I would not betray the Nez Perce and let them die. Even though the Nez Perce might have less warriors and worse weapons they might still win. So I would stay on the Nez Perce side.

I would obey Chief Joseph because he is my leaders. Also why I would do this is because I think that a good idea would be to help the olders and if they were to hurt us then I would fight. But the down side would be that soldiers would flow us

I would obey Chief Joseph because I don't want to die or even if they win you might get lost.I would also obey him because you might create a new nation and a new routine,food,and different way of living

I would choose Chief Josephs side. The reason I chose to go with Chief Joseph is that there are other tribes there and I could trade with the tribes. Another reason is that we will be safe and we could also even join tribes if they wanted to. Overall, I think the best choice for me is to go with Chief Joseph.
