I want to talk about one specific project. It’s called Lazarus. It is a graphite piece of a hand reaching for a ball of light. I really wanted to work on realism and I feel as though I did a great job with that. The most interesting thing that I learned while working on this project was the blending techniques that you can use to make the graphite as smooth as possible. 

      While working on this learning activity, I struggled most with using different values. It was very hard to use a variety of values to make it as realistic as possible. I am most proud of the result of this piece. I learned how to use graphite to make realistic pieces. 

      My culture impacted the way that I viewed my learning was to not give up. I grew up being told to try my hardest and I’d find the best result. I wanted to give up, as I struggled with proportions but I persevered. I was able to create the best project I have ever made, by persevering.

      If I did this again, I’d approach my project differently by planning it better. Next time, I’m going to work hard on planning what I am going to do with my project. This will prevent the struggle on what to plan next.
