Please text me all the questions all the time. Here is some of my favorite advice:
1. Trust your instincts. Remember that we evolved for millions of years without google and devices and everyone's public opinions. If something feels right or wrong it probably is.
2. Get a kindle for middle of the night feedings and a page turner to make those hours a little more exciting. Get a good binge show for the all day feedings.
3. Within the first week, leave the baby with Eric for 30 minutes. Leave the house for a walk. Good for you and good for him.
4. You got this. JK JK. i'm not a momma but i'm a very proud and seasoned auntie. laugh every day, don't be worried if you cry every day (its a good release!), give yourself a high five every day (you are keeping a human alive!), get outside and feel the sun or rain, the first 3 months are a great time to get to cafes and restaurants, ask for help/be ok taking help, also be ok telling folks to get lost, you've earned every cocktail and cookie so enjoy them. Everyone's experience is so different that it's hard to give advice, but some things that may be applicable no matter what - sleep when the baby sleeps, find at least a little time to take care of yourself (whatever that means for you), and ignore any advice from others that doesn't suit you (including mine lol). Re: taking time for yourself, I recommend having your husband take the baby out for a couple hours so you get time to yourself inside your own home and can’t control when they come back (when I used to leave by myself during maternity leave, I always felt stressed like I needed to get back home quickly). One of the benefits of working at TNTP is that inevitably at least one or two other coworkers are having a baby around the same time as you, so I also recommend finding someone who had a baby a few months before you and getting all their fresh hot takes (I would've been lost without Devon and Sarabecca's help with this). I'll pass along my favorite advice I received as a new mom.  When they put your new bundle of joy in your arms for the first time, press pause.  They are so alert and soaking in their new world.  Take that moment to just breath in your beautiful new creation.      I can close my eyes now and see all my babies beautiful newborn faces.  It is a moment that can easily be missed by all the hustle and bustle.

1. Eat before you go to the hospital.
2. Take time to just stare at your gorgeous little one.  Their faces change like a million times.
3. Be a paparazzi...act like you work for TMZ.  Those pics and videos will get you through some tough times.
4. Follow your gut! You will get soooooo much advice (even when you're not asking for it) but remember...is the baby happy, healthy, and living it's best life???? Then its all good.
5. Take time for you! A happy mommy is a sane mommy! Keep those Mani and pedi appointments, get a massage! Those things on your to-do list will always be there so take time for self.
6. And....even when your hair is a wreck, you have spit-up stains on your shirt, the house looks like a bomb went off, and you have to contemplate if you showered....your baby will still think you are the most beautiful and wisest woman EVER!
