However large amounts of both Chinese and Europeans started to come to the U.S in the 19th century.  They both generally had different reasons. The Europeans came more for their freedom,family & an all around new life while the Chinese came more for the gold. This had nothing to do with the racism however. Americans were very bias on the Chinese and didn't want them here. Europeans on the other hand were still not wanted here but not because of their race,.
