I do think that engaging more closely with research is extremely important to the daily work of teachers. It is important for teachers to get updated, to try new "ways", to use new tools, to get trained and to experiment in order to improve the quality and the results of our teaching process. But how to do this? To get engaged with research implies to spend a lot of time on training first, then on planning, implementing and assessing our reasearch. All this is not always compatible with the frantic daily work of syllabus, test preparation and correction, assessment, meetings, etc. Maybe a new way of conceiving our job is needed.
