      <description>Hayley Chang began her career as a federal prosecutor. After graduating from Cornell Law School, where she served as an editor of the Cornell Law Review, and clerking for the Chief Justice of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, she joined the U.S. Department of Justice. Ms. Chang spent six years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, prosecuting violent crimes and then white-collar crimes. She also served as Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General and subsequently served in leadership for the rule-of-law joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State, Defense, and Justice in Baghdad, Iraq.

Later, Ms. Chang moved to private practice, spending several years in both law-firm and company environments, and she became the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of a financial technology company. Upon return to public service, she served in leadership capacities at two law-enforcement organizations.

For the past year and a half, Ms. Chang has served as the Deputy General Counsel for the FBI, a component of the Department of Justice. Her career accomplishments including leading a team to acquire a new drone security law from Congress and advising Cabinet-level officials on national-level cybersecurity and foreign investment (CFIUS) matters.
