Topic: The position of women in society has changed markedly in the last twenty years. Many of the problems young people now experience, such as juvenile delinquency, arise from the fact that many married women now work and are not at home to care for their children. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

- MAIN 1: S + are equally responsible for their children's delinquent behaviours...
(1) In the modern world, it is not just maternal responsibility but both mothers and fathers should shoulder an equal responsibility in child-rearing. Since mothers are now able to find more well-paid jobs and contribute to their household earnings, needed time for their children would be cut down to pursue their careers as much as men. As a result, it would be unfair for women to be solely responsible for parenting while the financial burden of fathers in families can be reduced compared to two decades ago. Therefore, modern fathers must be further involved in parenthood, which makes their responsibility for the law-breaking deeds of their children equal to their counterparts.

- MAIN 2: The wrongdoings of parents also negatively influence their children's behaviours. In the very first years of a child, children are likely to take their parents' behaviours as the moral standards to act upon since they are the prime figures contact to that child. <distort child's psychology => normalise the wrong-doings> As a result, problematic behaviours against the laws such as stealing or physical violence made by parents can be mirrored by their children.
