I feel as if I use a lot of the collaborative standards with a lot of focus on listening skills, language development and writing. For example, I incorporate many discussions in a partner and whole group setting. I also utilize many writing assignments designed for students to interact.I would also say I tach many lessons that incorporate the productive standards. For each unit I incorporate at least 2-3 writing assignments such as precis, RACE paragrgahs, or other creative writing assignments. We also teach direct vocabulary biweekly and grammar daily.

One of the most frequently addressed ELD standards is "Exchanging information and ideas with others through oral collaborative conversations on a range of social and academic topics." This standard can be applied in many different contexts and be used in any academic lesson. It also provides students with opportunities to practice social skills when speaking and listening. Some interpretive standards that are frequently addressed include: listening actively and reading literary and informational text closely.

I also focus on comprehension by making sure that my students are actively listening and participating. I make sure to ask wh-questions and go over new vocabulary words.

All of our activities are collaborative and we are most often focusing on oral communication.
I need to revisit the standards in general and us them as a guide to goal writing and what to focus on to best support the ELD students I work with. There is so much to focus on in the areas of speech and language that if I specifically align goals to ELD standards for my ELD students it might help make both of our lives easier.
