The melting of the polar ice caps is causing the fast raise of the sea level. As the oceans creeps inland, salt water will seep in and pollute most of the fresh water reserves resulting in even more problems for us, obligating everyone to move away from the coast. Another interesting effect is that, if polar ice caps are completely melted, that will impact the rotation of Earth and may, in fact, change how long the day is.

However, not all plastic waste in the ocean is an effect of littering, many plastics and microplastics are the product of improper manufacturing processes and about 20% of plastic pollution in the ocean comes from industry.

With extreme temperatures, droughts, changes in rainfall patterns and infrastructure is limiting our human ability to inhabit the planet.
That's why it's important to look for ways to emit ever less greenhouse gases, just to limit these effects of global warming.
