         <description><![CDATA[<div>The top rank was the emprior that was just a public figure. The next rank was the shogun who actully ran the country and he was also the supreme military commander. after that was the daimoy, the powerful landholding sumerai. Sumerai wariors came next. Pesant and artsans came after them. Merchants were at the bottom but they became important later on. Most people think that the emprior was the one ruling the country but it was really the shogun. The emprior was there to look good to the public. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> Tokugawa Ieyasu won the battle of Sekigahara earing himself a lot of respect in Japan, 3 years later he became the shogun. He moved Japan's capital to Edo and that later becam Tokyo. <br>Edo what once used to be a small fishing village later bacame what might have been the largest city in the world and with a growing population of almost a million. <br>People would go to plays, read stories about acient warriors and their tale, and later on they started to read haikus.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When a European ship reck happened near Japan and sailors washed up the Portugese merchants came. They traded for clocks, which had not been a thing in Japan yet. They traded for eyeglasses too. The trade that had the biggest impact was probaly when they traded for some guns to, this was new to them and they started production right after.  This shortly after became the the new weapon for the Japanese.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Missionaries started to come to Japan and they forced themselves into the comunity. They country did nothing at the start, but it wasn't until in 1612 shogun had fiered religious uprisings. He banned Christianity in hope to get rid of all christans. By 1636 there was 30,000 christains, the shogun decided that being christian was a sign of rebellion. After that Christianity was banned ruthlessly. All European missonaries were killed or forced to leave. Every Japanese person was forced to show faithfulness to some branch of Buddhism.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Japanese in 1639 decided it would be a good idea to isolate themselves from Europeans, this lated for about 200 years. Nagasaki was the only port open to foreigners, and at that only the Dutch and Chinese were the only ones allowed. Nagasaki is also known for being bombed by the U.S in WWll, and that has shaped the way It is today. Besides the tragedies it is a huge tourist attraction. </div>]]></description>
