She realizes that she wouldn't want Raynell to not have a mother so she puts everything that troy has done to her aside and takes care of the baby. She's done nothing but been a good wife to Troy and he treats her horrible.  She takes care of the home and kids and he can't even be loyal to her at the least. Now she has to take care another kid that her husband had with another woman. I don't think she ever got to fully grieve and get over what happened to her since she had to take on the care of the baby and never actually had time to get through what Troy did to her. I think some of her weakness's are being too caring, and too forgiving. Shes a very caring person and that's exactly what this picture is. The mother looks nurturing to her children and Rose is the same way. I think this matches Rose because even though they aren't very wealthy or have a perfect life, she still appreciated what she has and loves her family. Her family is very important to her. "you go on and get your book- learning so you can work yourself up in that A&P or learn how to fix cars or build houses or something, get you a trade. That way you have something can't nobody take away from you. 
I think this is relevant to the theme because he thinks because of his race, his son won't make it playing football. He thinks a white person could "take it away" from him, and if he had a regular job that wouldn't happen. Race plays a big part in the movie, which is why i think that would be a good theme.
