ZOETROPE

is one of several pre film animation devices that produce the illusion of motion by displaying a sequence of drawings or photographs showing progressive phases of that motion.
The name zoetrope was composed from the Greek root words ζωή zoe, "life" and τρόπος tropos, "turning" as a transliteration of "wheel of life". The term was coined by inventor William E. Lincoln.

Lincoln invented the definitive zoetrope in 1865 when he was circa 18 years old and a sophomore at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island. Lincoln's patented version had the viewing slits on a level above the pictures, which allowed the use of easily replaceable strips of images. It also had an illustrated paper disc on the base, which was not always exploited on the commercially produced versions
<sup>
</sup>

Technology

PRACINOSCOPE

The Praxinoscope, invented in 1877 by the Frenchman, Emile Reynaud (1844-1918), is a precursor of the moving picture. Here, a band of pictures, each slightly different from its neighbor, is placed inside a rotating drum, quite similar to the arrangement of pictures in the Zoetrope. In Reynaud's design the pictures were viewed in succession by reflection from a series of narrow vertical mirrors placed at the center of the drum. The drum is spun by hand, and the horse appears to gallop.
A zoetrope is really similar to the praxinoscope, so similar that mainly people mixed them up. The only thing that is mainly different between them is that the zoetrope uses slits and the praxinoscope uses mirrors, so these are using different types of methods to create a spinning animation.

SHADOW THEATRES

is a very old story-telling and entertainment art that uses shadow puppets. The images produced by the dolls can have different colors and other types of details. Many effects can be achieved by moving both the puppets and the light source. A talented puppeteer (person who controls puppets or the one who makes puppets) can make the figures look like walking, dancing, fighting, nodding and laughing.

This art is practiced by groups from more than 20 countries. Shadow Theater is an old tradition and has a long history in Southeast Asia; especially in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia. It is also considered an ancient art in other parts of Asia as in China, India and Nepal. It is also known in the West, from Turkey, Greece to France. It is a popular form of entertainment for both children and adults in many countries around the world

When Victoria Villasana put in the most part in the eyes of the person I felt very emotional because she is highlighting the part of our body that see every thing, and the part that conveys emotion, for example if you want know if that person is happy or saddy you can look to his eyes that you will know about it, and it is the same if you want to know if she or he is lying!
so I want something like this result to my works so That’s why I choose Victoria because with this brillant result I can do a lot of good things and with good means.

And I most like in her job its that she use the nudity of the woman, and I find this very cool because I can use this in a clear way to talk about the feelings in which women feel and that we can make this fact that would be the weakest in the strongest

her drawing traits are more realistic and it's not something I want to use in my zine but I love the colors she uses for every illustration she makes, they are lighter and more pastel colors, and I think this core would combine a lot with my zine to give a more delicate touch since the criticisms that will be made will not need so much rigidity! And I also like that she works two parallel worlds of the imaginary, and that's an important detail to show two sides of one thing
