The first stage is when the students are 8 or 9. The last 2 stages are 3 to 5 years later. I think that this is great because it goes across a larger span of time which can give you broader results. The students would be in high school at this time. Large exams would be going on at this point and maybe correlating students exam scores with the results from the earlier stages can prove an even larger point and improve the study. The second thing that I would do differently is to sort the results out by school district. It basically says that those with an elevated reading level and understanding do better in the other aspects of academics and life.  That means that it is important for me to help children develop their reading level and do as much as I can for them in that aspect. Now that I have this knowledge, I am able to fine tune how I talk with children about what’s important. I can help them discover the beauty that is reading and get them on a path to success because of it. The broad implications of this research is that children need to read. Starting at a young age.
