S.M.A.R.T Goals

Specific: For there are two distinctive main categories, namely Cerebry and Photo/Video Outputs, I will explain my plan for each. For Cerebry, it roughly takes me 1-2 hours to finish an entire level. An entire week is given from the date the task is given to the day it is due. One of my main issues for the incompletion of my Cerebry tasks is procrastination. I usually do Cerebry on the weekends so that other assignments don't pile up on me, but as seen from the previous terms, it is not so efficient nor simple to do. To overcome this feeling of procrastination, I will split a topic into smaller chunks that I can accomplish throughout the week. After school, there is not much to do (unless I have a group meeting which is fairly unlikely) so I will focus on doing AT LEAST 1-2 levels.
As for my Outputs, one of the main reasons for me not showing up or contributing is me lack of a direct line of communication. Luckily, I now have a phone which will now tell me when my groupmates are messaging me, or when there is a task at hand.

Evaluation for this term: I haven't been doing well in the Outputs and even more in the Cerebrys since I used to see the task as daunting and overwhelming.

Measurable: My criteria is already packed into the curriculum for the year. In Cerebry, I can see what levels I have accomplished and how much percent I have left. I can check daily to see if I'm missing any tasks. For my Outputs and everything else, I have my PRF. Filling this out will give me a visual representaion of my class standing of not just my Outputs, but everything including Cerebry, and Assessments. Starting off the term right will get me set with the rest. Making this a schedule will definitely improve my idea on where I am in terms of Class Standing.

Evaluation: I didn't check Cerebry regularly, nor did I update my PRF often this term.

Attainable: Not only am I scheduling it better, but I am also mentally preparing myself for less workload everyday. When I schedule things like that, it makes me feel like there's less work to be done, after which I feel more motivated to continue the work.

Evaluation: Second term was really fast and yet, I was so non-chalant with my work. In my Cerebrys, I had to rush them and my outputs wouldn't be at their highest potential since I had to do it at the last minute.

Realistic: Doing these things will help reduce stress in school. I perform better with no pressure on me so following these steps will make the following term better.

Timely: Scheduling things to do after class is a very good way to keep things on track since I am usually a very messy person and "go with the flow". Knowing that I don't have to cram Cerebry or turn in my work a week after the deadline is really comforting. I usually rest after school, so I'll give myself 30 minutes of rest from 12:15 to 12:45. After then, I'll start with my Cerebry. Matching myself with the goals I set is another good way to build a goal since I don't have to grow to its expectations.

Evaluation: I was really scatter-minded last term and I usually didn't know what time I needed to do things since, of course, there are other subjects. So organizing Math, which is one of the biggest subjects I struggle with, will make a big difference in my academic life.

Most Challenging Task

Personally, the most challenging task was Cerebry 5.3, Quadratic Equations in 2 Variables. This was difficult for me since The negative signs to the formula y=a(x – h)2+k were a common mistake since I usually forget that "-(-" = "+" and this results in having a completely different answer. I have solved this by: 1. Notating a direct example of a correct question on the top of the page. 2. Putting parentheses on the negative integers so I won't get lost.

Misconceptions

While we were studying rational and quadratic equations, I had to answer Cerebry. In the program, there usually are two boxes in which you have to solve for the value of x. The problem was that there were two boxes denoted as x. I then thought to myself "x can be more than one value?" As I went along, it became more clear to me that the xs were actually a solution set where two numbers can both satisfy the problem above.

Probably my best work are the Cerebrys. They are one of the main tasks I should be able to complete for me to pass the term. While almost every Cerebry has not been easy for me, it's my best work since I was able to raise everything to max level.

Usually, I just work on my own numbers and check them afterwards with my groupmates. In this example, I was working on my Video Output 2 and I consulted with my groupmates to see if my solutions were correct and lo and behold, my answer was not close to being correct. If I hadn't consulted and just submitted the work, I would've gotten a low score.
