Definitely. The school with the best resources and best classmates are the dream school to every students. I could meet new friends from different cities and try the extra-curricular activities.I enjoy living with friends and experience different things with them.I believe that will be an unforgettable school life to me. Peggy

Definitely YES.

First, Eton is one of the privileged school, it offers the best environment and equipments. Every meals here are carefully prepared , that ’s how we can see life here is enviable, isn’t it?

Also, F.1 student are usually 12 years old which is a formative age. Adolescents are adjusting their behavior and establishing their own personality while vacillating between being children and being adults. Therefore, school plays an important role in training the one to be decent and mature. If I were educated in a privileged and well-disciplined school such as Eton, I would develop good habits, like push myself to learn harder so as not to fall behind, be punctual as being late is strictly prohibited, take care of oneself as being a boarder. And these are the lesson I can learn apart from textbook which are useful in the rest of my life.
-Vivian

Undoubtedly, I would like to have such wonderful experience since it is beneficial to me. Eaton is definitely one of the best school around the world. From there, students need to devote more and more efforts and times than normal. Therefore, it will exert a lot of pressure on every student. However, if we think optimistically, the pressure can push me up and encourage me to be better and better.

Also, it can widen one's horizon, I can learn more from others just like culture and skills. The most important is I can get rid of my boring daily life and have some challenging aims to achieve. In addition, If I am F.1 a student, that means I am still young and I don’t need to too worry about my academic result in school. I think I should utilize the benefit of my ages and attempt something novel and interesting. Otherwise, when I am in senior form, I will be troubled in many things. Not only the academic result, but also my future.

All in all, if I am a F.1 student, I will seize the opportunity which may make me to become more different.

-Jacky

If I am a F.1 student, I won’t like to experience the school life like this at Eaton. One of the reasons is the competitive school life of Eaton. We can understand that in the video that three boys have to do lots of homework and have a raft of lessons every day. For instance, James needs to consume 5 hours to do homework every day and has more than 10 lesson a day. Also, most of the students in Eaton concentrate in their studies and want to be the best. This will cause a great pressure to me. We may have some physical and mental health problems, such as insomnia, if we live in an environment that under high pressure. Therefore, I won’t like to experience the school life like this at Eaton.
~Issac Cheung

If I am affluent enough, I would spend the money foe studying in Eton. As it will be great for me to have this kind of experience that I can be one of the students in this well-known college. My life experience will be enriched by doing so. Studying in it will give me a sense of superior and I can immerse myself in this kind of environment so that I can improve myself in both academic performance and the ability to adapt unfamiliar environment. By studying in Eton, I can train my self-care ability as I need to live alone without parents so need to take care of myself and to be responsible to anything I have done in that college. It will be a challenge for me if I study in Eton. What is more is that I can learn knowledge that is different from the schools in Hong Kong.

Kylie

Obviously, yes.Eton is one of the most well-known college around the world. Many celebrities were study at the Eton which attract me to study at the Eton. Also, I can meet lots of friends come from different countries and I am sure that it can broaden my mind.
-jimmy

If I am affluent enough, I would certainly spend the money for studying at Eton. First, I want to study at a bigger school, Eton is a very big school, and have a lot of facilities that can let the students to enjoy many outdoor activities or extra-curricular activities. Eton does not like the school that I am studying(so small and do not have a swimming pool or football field), so I think if I can study at Eton, I will be much happier that I can join many activities that I cannot join in HK. Second, Eton has many subject that we never have in HK, like French and English History, these subjects is very attractive to me, and I want to have a try on these subjects, also, I think if I master these subjects ,I have much advantage on my future career.
Rochelle

IF I was affluent enough, I would definitely spend my money for studying in Eton. As the movie said, Eton is one of the most famous college in the world, which means there are lots of opportunities for those students due to the fame of the college and have more choices for them. This is many Hong Kong students dream for. Also the environment and atmosphere of the college great for studying, all students care about their performances and try to be the best. I can concentrate on my studying since my classmates also do so. This can greatly improve my academic performance. All in all, I would love to study in Eton if i was affluent enough.
--Jeff Liu

If I am affluent enough, I wouldn’t spend the money for studying at Eaton. There are several reasons. First of all, the education mode is too stressful for me. They do not have holiday for rest, they need to go to the lesson all day. Also, they do not have leisure time for entertainment as there are a flood of homework and revisions are waiting you. Therefore, the life in Eaton is too depressive for me. Apart from the harsh study schedule, the competitive atmosphere is fierce. It is because all the students who study in Eaton are excellent and they always compete their results. Therefore, if I lose in this competition in long term, my confidence would be reduced. Finally. It is too sorrowful for me to leave my hometown and go to school which in a strange place. All in all, I will not study at Eaton even though I am affluent.
--Yan

If I am affluent enough, I would spend money on studying at Eton. as I think it is worth to study at Eton. The reason will be outlined in the followings.
First, as many celebrities had studied at Eton, I think study at Eton is a kind of glory. And I think some famous businessman or prince will also study at Eton. So it is a good chance for me to meet them and they may able to help me in the future.
Second, their uniform in Eton is very cool.Unlike to the simple uniforms, Etonians wear a uniform of black tailcoat and waistcoat, false-collar and pinstriped trousers .It is very special. And I love their traditional style.
Third, I can learn many languages in Eton.Learning foreign languages such as Russian can help me to increase my competitiveness. I can be a diplomat in the future or develop my business in the foreign countries.
Emma

Yes. After watching the video ,I realized that studying in eton is a totally different life when compared in hong kong one.it is what I have been long for and have a thirst in it.

Hong Kong education usually have a teacher teaching around 40 students .the teacher may not able to take care of all need of a student’s .sometimes, the resources are being diverse the source each student gets is limits. However, in eton, each class has only around 10 students in which teachers can base on the need and ability of students to arrange the teaching method .
Wendy

Q.4 Do you think Hong Kong should form a school like Eaton? Why/Why not?

It will be great for Hong Kong teenagers to have a choice for secondary education like Eton.

From the video, we can acknowledge that Eton is a kind of school which will have all sorts of suggestions for students in terms of academy.

At the meantime, Eton helps remedy students' independence and self-discipline. These are things that many local secondary school are lacking.

Besides, in Hong Kong, education is always a stressful obstacle to face with. Vice versa, even though Eton requires student to work hard, they will try to keep students relieved by holding affairs like Casual Wears Day.

Ultimately, there are more subjects to be chosen to be studied in Eton. Whereas, Hong Kong, instead, only mainstream will be followed. Hence, fewer options are actually desirable for students.

In a nutshell, Hong Kong should found a school like Eton.
-Dicky

I think Hong Kong should also form a boarding school like Eton College.

The Eton College’s not only focus on students ‘ academic result ,but also their all- round development composing arts, different languages and sports. Unlike Hong Kong secondary school, I believed that the teaching mode of Eton College can well balance the students’ academic pressure and interests.

Besides, Eton is a 24-hours boarding school. Teenagers are required to live and take care of themselves without the help of their parents or domestic helpers. Therefore, their self-care ability can be trained and become more independent. What’s more, a boarding school which have strict rules to follow is especially suitable for those ‘Kong Kids’ who are rich and lack of self-discipline.

Moreover, a renowned school such Eton must attract a lot of celebrities, politician etc to send their children here. It is beneficial to students to meets more friends who may get a great achievement in the future and this can help their future career.

-Melody

If Hong Kong form a school like Eton, it gives teenagers a great chance to explore their personality and hobbies. From the video, we know that students in Eton have to face lots of challenge and they need to overcome all of them by themselves. It means that students in Eton can polish their self-discipline which is good for their life after finishing the study program.

One of the challenges is that there are more subjects for students to study, which means students will have an opportunity to learn more skills. By the skills and knowledge that they learnt, they will have a better starting point in their working life in the future by comparing with other secondary school students.

Also, the atmosphere of competition in Eton are good for teenagers as this can push them to fight for a better result. Besides, there are special affair in Eton such as the House Shout and Casual Wears day. These affairs give student chances to get along with housemate and reduce the stress of students. Moreover, every two days, students will have PE lesson for getting a balance with study time.

All in all, I think that Hong Kong should form a school like Eton. As students can learn a lot from it, more for study and even more for personality. If Hong Kong form a school like Eton, it will be a good news for all Hong Kong students. so I am glad to see a school like Eton form in Hong Kong.
--Billy
Honestly, it will be a problem if a secondary school or a college like Eton is set up in Hong Kong because of the difference of education system between Hong Kong and the Britain. In Hong Kong, students need to obtain a huge amount of knowledge in a short period of time and then go to the public exam. For example, a new senior secondary student in Hong Kong needs to learn all the syllabus, preparing for the public examination-HKDSE, in about two and a half-year senior secondary school life.

However, in Britain, students have more time and the studying atmosphere is not as stressful as Hong Kong. Therefore, it is not suitable for Hong Kong to set up a school like Eton.
~Alan

//Yes,I hold the belief that Hong Kong students need such a chance to undergo such a n exhaustive education and they would be able to weather the fierce competition.

First and foremost, the education system in Eton forster student's abilities in multiple aspects as their house would hold a host of competition including soccer and singing race.Although some of the Hong Kong students may get such chances as well, but we definitely do not have such entire facilities, for example, the swimming pool and soccer field which can help boost students trend of doing sports and provide a more flexible timetable foe them to practice. Moreover, the policy of learning different language are rarely seen in Hong Kong. Some of the high-ranked secondary schools may encourage their students to learn more non-native languages besides English while unfortunately, less supports and professional teachers are provided.Unlike Eton, where the authority managed to take care of different students progress and provide extra classes for different level so that students can get a good grasp of their learning. In Hong Kong, according to the data given by HKEAA,there are about three thousands of candidates attending in the HKDSE for French,German or Spanish language,it is crystal clear that Hong Kong students have the competence to learn multiple languages and that they really need is more opportunities provide by day schools in stead of paying high costs for tutorial classes.

Some of the critics believe that fierce competition among elite teenagers would cause unaffordable pressure and damage their mental health, but the true picture us that Hong Kong has the same astomphere as well, to same extend, thanks to the limitaion in universities degree, the competition in local might be harsher than that in Eaton.Besides, from the video,we can see that boys in Eton are willing to help each other and share their ideas,as a result, competition would leads to positive result as well.
-Fanny W
