My 6th and 7th grade students had the opportunity to learn about alliterations. We read and analyzed the poem "Ebenezer Bleezer's ice cream store" by Jack Prelutsky, the students had to  identify the alliterations in the poem, then create their own ice cream flavors using only alliterations.

My students had the opportunity to write their own song/rap lyrics. They used omission and understanding of rhyme to replace lyrics and write (re-write) rap/lyrics to an original song composition.
