The colonists called this (taxation without representation) with ment that the colonists were mad that they didn’t have a say in the English government or (parliament). One of the main instigators of the revolution was a man by the name of Sam Adams the founder of the sons of liberty and the liberty boys. There were also many other important figures in the revolution such as Paul Revere. Revere is most famous for his midnight ride on April 19, 1775 before the battle of Lexington and concord starting the beginning the revolutionary war. Revere rode the countryside warning the colonists of the British arriving by sea warning patriots Samuel Adams and John Hancock that British troops 700 of them where on there way to concord.
