The choices for when to walk out were: 1) all day, 2) noon 3) 1:30 or 4) 3:00 (essentially, after school). Our teachers chose after school. They did not want to leave their students. They are passionate about what and who they teach. Getting summers off does not and could not motivate teachers to work at lower salaries than peers in other sectors, be challenged by students, administrators and parents, and to work evenings and weekends to be prepared for the next day.
