My sister was the one who had shown me this book, since she loves to read fairytale books. So often, while I was reading the book we were able to talk about the book together.

To Kill A Mockingbird is such a great read. It includes some of the most controversial and biggest world problems. These problems include, sexism, racism, and class. This not only shows a world where these problems exist, but it portrays some characters named Scout, Jem, and Atticus.

12 Years a Slave by Soloman Northup

12 Years a Slave was such a unique and different book from most books that I have read. This book came from the perspective of a slave, but not only were we able to see life and the struggles this slave went through, but the author of this book was the slave. He was rescued by a few friends and then decided to write a book about it to encourage and show people what slaves went through.

Srsly Hamlet by William Shakesphere and Courtney Carbone

This book was definitely a fun read because it took a moment from the past that may be boring to others and switched it up to make it a bit more modern. The author did this by turning the story of Hamlet into a text message sort of setting and although the book wasn't long, it was definitely fun and enjoyable.

The Color Purple has to be be by far, one of the best books I have read this year. It was set up as a journal of a young girl who would write to God. She was African-American and she would write about how she was sexually abused and was drained emotionally and physically. It talks about her adventures and I loved reading the book from the start.
