My Call to Adventure

During the first day of high school, I slowly dragged myself out of bed slowly but even though I refused to get up at first, I still realized school is a must. I thought this was call to adventure because the first day of high school was a day of new ideas and adventures to unravel.

As the bell rings to get to the next class, I check my schedule to see which teachers I have for the year. I meet and greet all of them , which makes a very welcoming statement for new quests coming up during high school. I believe that these teachers are the supernatural aid I have to acheive high standards of freshmen year at high school because they are the ones that will push me to my limits.

Percy enters Camp Half-Blood because he has been summoned by the gods to be able to take on a quest. This was Percy's call to adventure. I believe this is his call to adventure because this is when he has been invited to carry a legacy for himself.

Percy is given an item right before his quest. This item is his "Riptide," a ballpoint pen that can be transformed into a sword which can protect him, and can be used as self-defense. This is Percy's supernatural aid because he is given something to be able to protect himself within the unknown world.

During the semester, I had to expect the unexpected. There was so much to keep track of, I couldn't handle it, such as essays to write, worksheets to complete, and projects to do. These were my challenges because it left me completely vulnerable, with a huge mountain to climb through this quest.

After retrieving the starting steps of his journey, he is ready to travel to find the lighting bolt of Zeus. There are many mythological monsters that are determined to stop him on his tracks, risking Percy's life and possibly causing death. These are Percy's challenges because it explains what kind of danger there is that is lying out there in his quest.

After a full semester of tests, essays to write, and homework worksheets, it finally has come to an end. Finals approached, and once finals were completed, winter break came by. My return home finally came, because for the winter break, I was able to relax, and have fun with the family.

Percy captures the lighting bolt of Zeus, returns it back to its rightful owner and finally maintains control of the peace between the mortal and immortal worlds. He is now able to see his mortal mom again, and return to Camp Half-Blood to rest. This is Percy's return because it illustrates the final outcome of his quest, and is reunited with his family once again after a brutal journey.
