I enjoy a few specific characters from the sans serif that is used, in particular the 'W' and the 'R' in Onion Powder. I would classify that font as a Geometric sans serif due to the roundness and symmetry found in the bowl of the O and Ps. I think that these sans serifs are successful since they are clear in depicting both the brand and spice.

This wine label uses a mix of geometic sans serif in 'roots', as well as a slab serif in 'rose' and even small caps in 'trademark...grapes.' I think this label is succesful in mixing fonts since it leans into hierachy that justifies mixing typefaces. Each font is not too decorative and allows for easy legibility.

This bottle displays a few successful serifs in my opinion. The headline is a transitional serif, however the contrast on the 'N' is extreme. I especially like the use of small capitals tucked in between the headlines and how they are used with the founding year a few lines below. I do question whether the tighter kerning between the 'R" and the 'I' is intentional. To me, it feels a bit too close.

Additionally, the type below that describes the ML and percent of Alc. is not small capitals, the characters are not square and more condensed but still distinguishable as a transitional serif. Also noting the italicized serif on the more opaque banner above the headline, I think that choice was successful as well. Overall, I think this selection of serifs is successful since it offers a variety that speaks to the voice of the brand yet does not overwhelm the viewer since each appears to be similar and possibly apart of the same family.

I found the kerning between the 'P' and 'A' is a bit too much. I would reduce it a bit to match the rest of teh character spacing. Overall, this sweatshirt also mixes geometric sans serif as well as the jeep logo (decorative) successfully. I do question whether the type choice could be more unique and would be interested in seeing a more rugged font.

I found this business card's use of type unsuccessful due to its bad kerning as well as bad font choice. The kerning between the 'k' and the 's' of 'Creekside' seems too tight. The heading is a condensed transitional sans serif, however, the second line's leading is gaping and feels unintentional. Knowing this garden center as a great local spot, this card is disheartening. I think they should definitely consider an update, if not already done.

This manual uses a script font along with a modern sans serif. I do not find this example successful. I think the kerning on the script headline is strange and the choice to use a script font is also questionable. The hierarchy of this page also feels off to me, I think a better solution would be to make the model number smaller to emphasize the variety of recipes if offers.

I think thefont used with 'Sour S'ghetti' is intresting and quirky and I wonder if is a font or a custom one. Overall, I think these type pairings are successful in that they clearing list the flavors while not straying too far from the brand's history of simple sans serifs.

I found this type pairing interesting as I think I would not have paired these 3 together, yet appear to be successful. 'Glaze' is in a more modern serif. I found the arc of the G very compelling as well as the slanted apex of the A. Additionally, I found the contrast on the Z interesting as well. This more custom serif is paired with a simple script in 'with' and a recognizable transitional script in caps used under that I have definitely seen before.

The font of line underneath I think is a good pairing because it shares some elements of a more hand-done feel with the E crossbar being lower and very round Os. I feel I think that it is successful in bringing a more youthful packaging design to vegetables to possibly appeal to younger audiences.

The experimental font used here comes from the text "choco coffee." The letters are given a sense of three-dimensional depth, and somewhat 'pop' off of the page. The c's go with the o's perfectly, as the round circle shape is consistent between the similar letters. Also, each letter is given equal weight, which is very appeasing. I do think using lowercase E's in coffee would be interesting to see how it'd look instead of uppercase, as they would match the shape of c's and o's better.
