Every student is different and we all have different tendencies and distractions that may conflict with our studying, whether that be our phones, video games or socialising we can all get caught up in our own distractions. My two week study plan can help mitigate these distractions may include:

First, find a comfortable yet semi public setting like a library, study room, lounge area, or an art building to study. Shut off your phone or turn off the ringer. This way you can decrease the chances of falling asleep, going on your phone, socialising too much with peers etc.

Assuming that you have the course material to study, take the first 30 minutes to review your own personal notes or course notes, ask yourself questions, write what you learned (remember we are building the habit of studying)

Next take the next 30-45 minutes writing reflections on the course material, notes from class as well as logging what distracted you, what felt boring and what you feel best about. I suggest doing this every day for the first week

After that week process, celebrate what you learned and log your progress, write what you learned compared to the day before, add quizlets, flashcards and even column graphs to keep from the studying being too repetitive.

As you complete this study plan, ask yourselves the following questions:

Did I build a habit (any at all?)

What improvements did I make in my study habits?

What will I continue/take away from this process?
