1. Self-Reflection

I was inspired by Elon Musk on what he has contributed to the society and also realized that innovation has no boundaries. Following other successful people’s tracks is only limited to one’s starting journey. After that, one should have his own way of making changes to the world. As a leader, one should outsmart the successful people to create brand new ideas which would lead the community into a better life. If everyone keeps on following the old ideas, no new ideas would be generated; and what the world now needs the most are great leaders to cope climate crisis by inventing renewable resources powered systems such as electric cars.

This thought was brought up when I was skimming through the topics prepared by the speakers. The variety of topics made me realized that there were so much more to learn as some of the topics were too specific and need more research ideas in order to fully understand them. From there, I have learnt to always be humble when receiving people's perspectives as no one will know whether one thought's bad idea would be deceitful enough to be a public accredited idea in the future, just like what have been portrayed by Elon Musk.

2. My Pledge and Commitment

With my knowledge acquired, I pledge to educate public about their responsibilities to the environment and the drawbacks of destroying it. If I were given a chance, I will use the chance to build an alliance to gradually transform the fossil fuel generators into renewable energy systems.

3. Personal Development Plan (PDP)

· Improve communication skills in terms of formal talking.

· Improve understanding in environmental law.

· Do research and understand on why public treat environmental problems as norms.

· Choose environmental themed FYP projects to enhance in-depth knowledge on current environmental issues and statistics.

1. Self-Reflection

"Becoming a leader is not a smooth journey, there will be moments of disappointment, failures, setbacks, however, the important thing is we need to have the willingness and humbleness to learn throughout the process, and the persistence to recover from the setbacks." Great leaders aspire to take a chance or risk when the right opportunity presents itself. I even become more aware of the importance of SDGs so as to ensure a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Besides youth volunteerism open doors to me to involve in leadership. When one actually volunteer to help others, it wasn’t something for ourselves, but for others and that is really a meaningful and impactful act.

2. My Pledge and Commitment

Upon graduation from actuarial science degree, I am committed to contribute to The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For example, providing free advisory services to ILO constituents relating to public finance, program design and actuarial issues in ensuring the financial and economic sustainability of social protection systems.

Besides I pledge to involve in the development and application of innovative motor insurance produces which incentivize and encourage good driving behaviour in developing nations. Besides, I hope to utilize the actuarial and catastrophe modelling methodologies to evaluate and place a cost on environmental risk. This cost is to be recouped from the entities causing the pollution via an insurance premium.

3. Personal Development Plan (PDP)

-Actively participate in international actuarial congresses, seminars, colloquia and workshops, including events organized by the Groupe Consultatif and by the International Actuarial Association (IAA) and its sections.
-Continuously taking external professional paper to broaden my knowledge in actuarial field as learning is a life long process
-Join volunteering activities with NGOs or non profit organization to assist those who are really in need
-Continue to strengthen my soft skills by taking the opportunity to join any public speaking related training activity
-Enhance my problem solving and decision-making skills in workplace by joining more internships
-Improve my technical skills by self-learning programming languages, excel, data analytic tools through online websites like Udemy, Coursera
-Always demonstrate an ability to use teamwork and time management to produce better outcomes by joining actuarial case study team challenge.

1. Self Reflection
Throughout the YKLDP, I learnt that being a leader or not, one must always be truthful in whatever decision is made. There’s no right justification for doing anything wrong. One has to remain ethical and find ways to solve a problem while still staying truthful. I also learnt that communication is an important skill to acquire as a leader because, with communication, the right message can be conveyed. It can also help someone to understand an issue better with clear communication. Knowledge is key to becoming a good leader as being knowledgeable, you are able to make informed decisions.

2. My Pledge and Commitment
Upon graduating, I pledge to increase the financial literacy of society, especially those in secondary school and university or youths in general.

Self- Reflection

Throughout YKLDP, I learned a lot about myself as a person and also a leader. For the past few months, I've been doubting myself and YKLDP made me realised the true potentials I have that's been buried for months. As much as I am inspired by the invited speakers and coaches, I am also amazed by the ambitions and the hearts of the other scholars. They really inspire me to improve myself and start making changes. The best part about YKLDP is it has provided me with the tools that I need to turn my day-dreams into actual life goals. I need to start believing in myself and my goals, and work on them. Volunteerism is one thing that I really enjoy doing as it gives me joy whenever I see smiles on others. Through YKLDP, I have a clearer vision and insight on wha I should do. I want to be an inspiration for people to pursue success.

My Pledge and Commitment

Upon graduation from medical school, I pledge to:

have my own NGO or foundation focusing on child abuse, single mothers, and school dropouts

advocate for PLHIV

be involved in healthcare reach-out programmes in rural areas especially in Sarawak

motivate students to pursue their studies and have plans in life

Personal Development Plan (PDP)

Volunteer in NGOs focusing on child abuse, single mothers and school dropouts

Participate in healthcare reach-out programmes

Build connections with people from various disciplines

Join conferences, seminars and courses related to children, women, education and healthcare

Take up leadership positions and hone my public speaking skill

1. Self reflection

Ever since young, I am a firm believer that education is the most important part in anyone's life. Education and opportunities can change ones' life in many ways. But to go out there and advocate for equal opportunities and educational rights is not an easy task. Being a leader or setting up an NGO is not a walk in a park and this program has opened my eyes to that. There are still many things left to learn as learning is a lifelong process. From a personal perspective, I have lots of places for improvement and learning. YKCBL has shown me how I am privileged enough to be where I am today and I will do my best to help those who are not as privileged as I am.

2. My pledge and commitment

- I will always use my platform to talk about and spread awareness on education rights, feminist issues and marginalization.

- I plan to start a project on conducting talks on sexual education in schools and communities especially when sexual topics are a taboo in our community.

- I will help the marginalized community to have access towards education in ways I can (financial aid, tertiary education opportunities talks)

3.

1. Self-Reflection

I’ve learned that being a leader is not as easy as it seems. Besides leading teams towards certain goals, a leader must also be responsible for ensuring a good relationship between team members while being able to bring positive changes to the community. Before this program was held, I frequently doubted my capabilities of becoming a good leader. However, after going through this amazing YKPSP program, I now have a clearer vision of my abilities in being a good leader. I have managed to improve my speech-giving skills while being exposed to the 17 SDGs, which honestly, I wasn’t particularly paying attention to before. By carrying out mindful exercises, I have also been able to cope with my daily stress better. Not only that, but my general knowledge and understanding of community services particularly the ones that involve refugees has also increased throughout the CBL session.

2. My Pledge and Commitment

- Focus on improving my leadership skills by participating in more clubs and organizations in my university.

- Always be more ethical and rational when leading a team.

- Help refugees by contributing to organizations that aid refugees in the country to develop a sustainable livelihood.

- Contribute to the technological development of the nation after graduating while always keeping the 17 SDGs in mind.

3.

1. Self-Reflection

I enjoyed being able to improve myself as a person and a future leader. This programme indeed is a platform where us as a scholar need to enhance our leadership skills. I understand that to be a successful leader, one needs to have persuasion in their speaking in order to get the best results from any decision making. As the saying goes, "communication is key", I believe that YKLDP really emphasize on the significance of communication in leadership position I also learned on the necessity of each individual to understand and practice the 17 SDGs imposed to be achieved by 2030. Some of the 17 SDGs can be applied by joining volunteerism whether it is on an individual scope or organisation scope.

2. My Pledge and Commitment

My pledge upon graduation would be to educate myself to be more aware on the 17 SDGs aim by reading more on the problems and how to cope or alleviate them. I will also advocate people on the importance of helping people in need especially in education and financial issues. I pledge to use my social media on spreading awareness especially in eliminating poverty (SDG1) and zero hunger (SDG2).

3) Personal Development Goal

-Attend more online or physical seminars to enhance my skills especially in communication and leadership.
-Join more NGOs as volunteer/facilitator/fundraiser to assist more people in need especially the stateless, displaced and underprivileged children
- improve my existing technical skills by attending online courses in excel and VBA
- join public speaking showcase to further enhance my persuasive speaking skills

1. Self Reflection

This program has showed me a new perspective in understanding our current reality. We were fed with information and insight that allow us to be empowered in making informed decision on our future and using in helping the people in need. Change can start within oneself and change can only complete with everyone on board.

2. My Pledge and Commitment

Currently, as I am mapping out my career journey, I am hoping to be able to be selected in Reinsurance company that has clear governance on how the insurance company can promote environmental and social advancement. If otherwise, I planned in mirroring the effort of companies that have successfully implement the policy in minimizing business exposure on unrenewable energy.

Next, I am now volunteering in SPOT in the effort of educating children on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to children as young as 9 years old. I am planning to widen my scope and reach out to rural and refugee communities.

3. Personal Development Plan

1. Increasing my technical skills in order to increase my credibility
2. Participating events that would create meaningful and purposeful connection with other leaders, NGOs and beneficiaries.
3. Finding alternative in reaching out to women and children such as; supporting research in empowering women and children

1. Self-Reflection
Throughout this programme, from observing the speakers, I now know that passion is probably the most important common trait. The difference between me and them is not necessarily age or money or connections, but drive, and if I can muster up that drive then I can achieve the same things and help people.

2. My Pledge and Commitment
- Be more active in various volunteering activities
- Be vigilant in discovering new ways to help, not turning a blind eye or making excuses
- Be innovative and contribute to future's society, inclusive and sustainable.

3. Personal Development Plan (PDP)
I will continue my studies, gaining the knowledge and ability to help even more people than before. I will stay on this path with the correct motivations, for the right reasons. Parallel to this, I will help out as much as I can as often as I can, volunteering where help is needed, teaching and learning everywhere I can. I'll learn different ways of communicating, to expand my influence and potential, and learn different ways of helping too.

Self-Reflection
- An awakening call to see beyond the hierarchical bureaucracies and make change within the capacity that one possesses. I was especially inspired by the words of Tan Sri Sharifah Hapsah in creating and manifesting visibility as part of the cornerstone of making change in female empowerment as an instrumental tool to breaking the glass ceilings. Actions speak louder than words and in that sense, a lot of inititiatives are often put in pedestal to be executed by select group of people when in reality, the power is in all of us and beyond the legal intricacies. There's always a way, even in the most sombre predicament; in making a change to oneself to in turn help the community and cause.

Pledge and Commitment
- To materialise the much exciting but daunting venture of becoming an esteemed lawyer and tackle the issues that are close to me as best as possible. One may not be able to do everything, but I want to make a difference in the cause that I believe in, in the best way possible.

Personal Development Plan
- To be more proactive member of the society, (despite the repercussions that might follow) because there are a lot more out there waiting for the camaraderie.
- Actively look for ways to engage my legal skills in causes of feminism, sexual trafficking, public international disputes and changing the gender paradigm in Malaysia.
- I'm passionate about the genesis of wars and the laws behind it as well and to possibly take up that opportunity when the time arrives whilst also actively learning more from the fraternity on the issue and creating awareness in Malaysia.
