This first picture is a graffiti by Banksy. Bansky was born on 1974 in England. His job is artist. He does this painting in the street. He loves to provoke, shock even to disturb society and that is why his work is so important. We can say, Banksy is an artist comited.

This picture is a painting, there isn't background. Look ! Nothing shocks you ? The symbol of peace is a target. Look at this ! The dove is wearing a body armor. It's not strange ? The bird have in his beak an olive branch. So to resum the symbol of peace is at risk. This painting can convey a message like we must act to preserve peace in the world.
This painting was made in 2005 on the wall of separation israeli.

I don't believe so. The worker is drawn in black and white , besides the wordn the left of the picture is in colour. The artist dit that to show that the men has no eotions, no feelings, no dreams...

The waterfall-Julian Beever

Do you see this artwork ?

It is from Julian Beever, who was born on 1959. He is a British sidewalk artist. Julian started his career in the middle 90’s.To create the illusion of three dimensions, when viewed from the correct angle, he uses anamorphosis as technique.

Have you noticed the two people on the left of the corner?

If we were in their shoes, we could not be able to see this monument. He started street art, after he was graduated in the Stonehenge Free Festival, because it was his passion. Now he works for companies and institutions, across Europe, Us and Australia.

Does he have problems?

Unfornately yes , he has been arrested once or twice, however if you stay calm and polite ,it will be okay, he said , in an interview.

What is this document, in your opinion?

This document is a drawing. The painting is entitled ”The Waterfall”.

Where do you think we are ?

Well, it is drawn in Zürich, Switterland, and it shows a raft in the middle of the danger.

What can you see in the middle of it ?

In the middle, we can see a raft, wich is floating in a river.

And in the foreground?

In the foreground, more precisely at the bottom, the waterfall is taking place.

Have you noticed something else?

On the left and on the right of the artwork, some rocks are staying.

Where does the scene takes place, according to you ?

The scene is taking place in a jungle, but the drawing is in the richest Zürich’s suburb.

The painting is very realistic, because it is using a 3D technique.

The water of the river takes the most big surface of this artwork.

Where is your attention drawn to ?

The focus if the painting is the waterfall then the one realizes that the raft is important too.

We can easily imagine that the raft is going to be crashed, so something is in danger.

Look closely, at the raft? Do you see something?

There is a sun on that flag.Sun,light and who means light, means the light of life. Therefore the raft represents, our life.

And what does the water do?

The water reflects the light, therefore the water must be presenting the courtyard of daily life. The rocks represent the risks that we don’t take.

Can you imagine anything about the waterfall?

The waterfall represents the future. The danger that we can not avoid.

I think that the painter wanted to show that, we can not escape our fate , that we’re depended on it.

Why?

Because, if the waterfall didn't not exist, the raft would not be moving and maybe it would be destroyed a lot earlier.

So, to sum up, in this 3d sidewalk painting, we can notice a raft, wich is floating on a river and wich is going to get crashed, because there is a waterfall. The artist wants to make us aware of the life's dangers.

What is your opinion about this masterpiece?

I think that this picture is quite beautiful, because the 3d aspects are respected. The artist is very talented, because it is hard to make an artwork like this on the ground. Personally, I believe that the waterfalls are very relaxing. The water is going down with its form and sound.

Do you know Banksy? I hope you don’t know who he is, so that I will teach you something.

So, first, Banksy is a famous street artist, but he is anonymous, Banksy is just a nickname, nobody knows his real name. He has been arrested many times because as you maybe know, graffiti is considered as vandalism by a lot of people.

He used stencil technic and painting to make his spray paint.

Some people had made hypotheses and think his name is Robert Banks, he was born in1974, in Bristol, in England but he started graffiti in 1993. Is it ok dear listener ? I have finished with the artist know we will talk about what you see, the artwork.

So, do you know when it has been made ? The « Armoured Peace Dove » was made in 2005 on the wall of Bethléem which maesures 700 km. He choose to interfere between Israel and Palestine to denounce war and injustice.

The Armoured Peace Dove represents a dove flying and having an olive branch in his beak. It is wearing a waistcoat and it’s in the viewfinder of a sniper. We can also notice bullet impact at the top of the wall.

Do you know what every detail mean ?

The dove and the olive branch symbolize peace, the waistcoat shows violence. The viewfinder and the bullet impact mean war.

To finish with, we can say that he denounces war and every people who died in that place.

In my opinion, I love this painting because it permits people to have an opinion about that and to express themselves, I think it’s a good way to show that we don't agree. I like this artwork. And you, what do you think about that ?.

Originally from the United Kingdom, he was born in Bristol in 1974. It was in the 80's that he began to express his art via graffiti. Now, he uses stencils to make his politically engaged works. It is important that the use of stencils makes it possible to prepare his work in advance, so as not to get caught by the police when he lands on the walls of cities. He loves to provoke, shock society and that is what makes all the importance of his works. His works are mainly between humor, politics and poetry.

The first work we will present is "Graffiti is a crime"

His first work appeared on October 1, on a wall in Chinatown.

This first painting is a graff from Mr Thoms.

Do you know him ? he is named Diego della Posta. Diego is 38 and he lives in Itali. Before graffiti he made little animation for the television. Mr Thoms starts to graff in festivals. We learn that he wants to never be exposed in gallery.

So, now we can talk about this artwork. It’s in Florentino in Itali. When Diego realized this graff he turned one more a timelapse.

You can see a man with blinkers « facebook » , he seems to be stressed, in a bad mood. Look on his forehead, with a big thumb in front of him, he’s sweating ! And his hand are taking in handcuffs. If we look around the man who is in the middle, we can notice a lot of likes, all around him !. This man is maybe sick.

But ! Remember all what we say… Do you know what I think? ? This man is sick.. of networks ! All what he can see is like on facebook, everywhere ! And he can’t do anything else because he’s not free of his hands !

This graff has for aim to denounce the abuse of networks. It’s a caricature of the new generation I think. People are more and more obsessed with likes and comments . Do you understand ? it’s very important apparently…

My opinion

For me this graff is a realistic representation of current time. We are all fixed on our mobil phone on social networks. Yes, i said « we » beacause I take part sometimes in this phenomenon.

Mr Thoms has very wellrepresented this because we understand right away the meaning, an d with this artwork we are called to ask ourselves.

Test the rest

This work is a wall painting made by Birgit Kinder in 1990, entitled "Test the rest" to symbolize the end of a violent and hard period of history. This document represents the fall of Berlin wall. The artist's work is about 5m long by 2.5m high. It was done with a brush and a bomb on concrete.

In the center of the painting is a light-colored Trabant, the iconic car of the GDR, crossing the Berlin Wall on a blue background. Why a Trabant? It was first the car that the East Germans used to go west in the summer of 1989 until the fall of the wall in 1989. On the other hand, several motorists of the GDR were killed Rushing at full speed against the wall. We see a license plate written "nov-9-89", the date of the fall of the Berlin Wall, November 9, 1989. We guess, inside the car, in the shade, a steering wheel and A conductor represented by a silhouette, without details, to represent the people of East Germany. The car emerges from the shadows, the dictatorship of the GDR, towards the light that symbolizes freedom regained. On each side of the car, gray chips, those of the wall crossed and on the other hand in a surprising way a car that has no scratch, no degradation despite the violence of the shock. On the left, at the top of the work, is a slogan "Test the best", which can be understood as the idea of the passage to the West "the best side" to be tested by the East Germans.

The Berlin Wall embodied the confinement of the East German population, forbidden to travel to the West. He also summarized the division of the world, shared between the Western world and the Soviet world. The breakthrough depicted on the fresco symbolizes the fall of the wall and the reconquest of freedom. Having painted on the "East" side of the wall is also a symbol of postage: when the border existed, it was forbidden for the East Germans to paint on the wall. Finally, the car does not bear any mark of its crossing of the concrete, as to recall that the fall of the wall was done without effusions of blood or wounds.

I think that the work is totally in context and history, it emphasizes peace and freedom, something very important in today's life.
