Instructions:

1. Pour the soda into the glass.

• 6 clear cups

Instructions:

1. Fill every other cup with water and add food coloring (Red - empty - Yellow - empty - Blue - empty).

2. Roll paper towels into strips and place them to connect the cups.

3. Watch the water "walk" to the empty cups and mix colors.

3. Magic Milk

Steps:

1. Cut a plastic bottle in half. Keep the top part. (3 mins)

   Gently place 5 to 10 raisins into the drink.

   Watch the raisins for a few minutes. You'll notice:

   • At first, they sink.

   • Then, bubbles attach to the surface of the raisins.

   • As bubbles build up, the raisins rise to the surface.

   • When the bubbles pop, the raisins sink again.

   • This cycle repeats — they appear to “dance” up and down!

It’s a simple device that uses potential energy from the clothespin when pressed down and when released its converts into kinetic energy that releases the crumpled paper inside it.

How we will we explain it to little kids :

When you press down on the clothespin , the clothespin gets collects a lot of energy. Energy is basically what people or things use to move. Energy that is collected and not used to move is called potential energy. When you let go of the clothespin, the potential energy, which as we can recall, is energy that is not used to move , will be converted to kinetic energy which will allow the crumpled paper to fly! Kinetic energy is energy that is used to move or do anything. So, after all this, what happened is just that the clothespin had potential energy when we pressed down on it, then when we let go of the clothespin, the potential energy gets converted into kinetic energy, which will let the paper ball fly.

Steps:

1. Tell kindergarteners to draw a maze on the piece of cardboard + label entrance and exit & write their names clearly (walk around to help them out with maze drawing) (5-7 minutes) 

2. Let them pass their papers to each other ( 5minutes) -> if it’s too messy, collect the papers from them and distribute them (make sure that everybody has a piece of paper that is NOT theirs)

4. Solve the maze (5 minutes) -> if they need help, try to help them but don’t solve it for them

4. After that, hold the balloon over bits of paper to see if the paper will stick to the balloon (2-3 minutes)

• Top half of a plastic bottle (with tape around the cut part)

• Cap with a hole attached to the bottle (make sure there are no jagged edges around the hole) (hole should not be larger than the straw to prevent the air from escaping)

Steps:

1. Insert the short end of the straw into the hole (3-5 minutes)

2. Blow into the long-end of the straw while placing a ping pong ball with their free hand (1 minute)

3. Observe how the balloon sticks levitates (3 minutes)

4. experiment with how forceful they breathe to see if the height that the ball levitates changes (~4 minutes)

4. Experiment with tapping on different materials to feel differences (5-8 minutes)

1. We would have an activity where we would explain and teach the concept of light and shadow to the children

2. We would ask the children to interact with the set up with the torch, that we have created, and use objects that are transparent, translucent and opaque to cast the shadows onto a wall.

3. They can also move the objects on the set up so that they can observe the size of the shadows change on the wall.

   
   

4. We will give the children some materials for them to create their own prop for the experiment.

5. We will then explain why a shadow can be casted and be able to have different shapes.

We also can have a lego building activity that requires them get into groups of 4 and built a plant cell , we will guide them from step by step so that they will not get lost building the wrong thing. We would also let the children use the microscope but we will not let them hold it or touch it so that there will not have any broken things.

2. The Jumping Coin
   Put a coin on top of a glass bottle. Hold the bottle with your warm hands. After a while, the coin jumps or makes a clicking sound.

   Hang a paperclip on a string. Move a magnet close to it without touching. The clip floats and moves.

4. Disappearing Water
   Use three cups, one with a sponge hidden inside. Pour water into that cup, then turn all the cups over. The water has “disappeared.”

   Blow through a straw or use a cool hairdryer. Hold a ping pong ball in the air stream. It floats in place.
