Lou- appears to like the LS. he denies his interest in the seamstress y saying "she's not civilzed, at least enough for me"(27). Despite the poor living conditions, he continues to grow. 

the narrator - Maybe he likes the LS as well? The Narrator - Calls the LS pretty (does he have a crush on LS as well?) Characters development - the narrator has grown more comfortable in his storytelling abilities, telling the entire story of the little flower to the LS and the flour sorceresses. he's still not as good as Luo, but he is improving. smaller crowd? Luo wasn't there to demand the spotlight? Maybe he wants to impress the LS?  

the sorceresses - old, ugly crones (witches).
