A life for a kid in Buckland and a life for a kid in Anchorage are different and the same in some ways. The text states, "Youth are not allowed out after 10 p.m. There is no indoor plumbing except at the school. Homes usually have plastic pails for toilets. The village has a "washeteria," a combination coin-operated laundry and public shower." This proves that there are diffrences in kids life depending on were they live. Another fact is, despite their differences, the Mirror Lake students could see ways that Buckland students were like them. Most people have dogs. The teenagers have laptop computers. Many families also rent movies by mail through Netflix" This shows teenagers are alike no matter were they live.

This is because where I live teenagers have laptops to comunicate with there friends and family.

I think it wouldn't be simular to where I live. for instance "The students went ice fishing and learned native dancing". This means where I live it is hot so we can't go ice fishing. And we don't do native dances because there is not a lot of Native Americans.

The article states, This is the kind we have at home," said Karstin Hadley, pointing to a pound of butter marked $2.99. This proves that a similarity between Buckland and anchorage is that we have the same kind of butter. Next, the article also states, "Four students looked over the rows of butter in the refrigerator cases of a supermarket in Anchorage, Alaska. There were more choices than these students had ever seen. This shows that a difference between Buckland and anchorage is more butter selection in Anchorage than in Buckland. All in all, the life for a kid who lives in the village of buckland has similarities and differences from a kid who lived in the city of Anchorage.

Buckland and Anchorage are completely different in many ways, but they still have some similarities. According to the text, "Same Kids, Different Lives", students are participating in a government exchange program. Seventh graders from Mirror Lake in Anchorage, went to Buckland. It is a small village of 400 people south of the Arctic Circle. In comparison, Anchorage is a large city of 282,813 people. These are very, very different towns (places). From the text, "The Buckland students had fun. Still city life was different for them. "It's too big for me", said Hadley. "It's too busy here". This proves that the city of Anchorage and the town of Buckland are very different. Another difference is that Anchorage has indoor plumbing and Buckland does not except at the school. Even the schools are different because in Anchorage, there are 680 students in the school. That is more people than the whole entire village of Buckland. There is one school in Buckland for all grades. To sum things up, life for a kid in the village of Buckland is much different than Anchorage. Buckland and Anchorage have a lot of differences, but can you believe they also have many similarities too? According to the text, "Same Kids, Different Lives", there are many similarities. The text states, "Despite the differences, the students could see ways that they were alike. Most people have dogs. The teenagers have laptop computers'. This quote exemplifies that children in Buckland and children in Anchorage both have similarities. To sum things up, kids living in Anchorage and Buckland have both differences and similarities!!!
