I’m currently 20, turning 21 this coming September. I was born on the 6th of September 2004 in the historical city of Malacca.

My educational journey began at SK Kem Terendak, where I built the foundation of my learning years. I then moved on to SMK Ghafar Baba for my secondary education – both schools nestled in the heart of Melaka, the state I proudly call home.

As time went on, I discovered a growing fascination with the world of hospitality. Drawn to the energy, elegance, and behind-the-scenes magic of hotel life, I decided to pursue this path seriously. That’s when I enrolled in the Diploma in Hotel Management at UiTM Permatang Pauh – the very place where my interest blossomed into a true passion.

Now, I’m continuing my journey here with the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, ready to explore more and grow even further in this exciting industry.

Since it was still Raya break 🎉, we started the semester from home with online classes. It was a smooth and easy start — some ice-breaking, a quick briefing, and chill vibes all around 🌿✨.

Everyone participated actively and gave their opinions on who would best fit each role based on responsibility and teamwork. This discussion not only helped us organize better but also strengthened our communication and decision-making skills as a class.

We're all looking forward to the trip and are excited about the roles we'll play to make it a memorable experience!

In the same week, we did a group presentation on hotel design and layout. Each group shared ideas on how a hotel should be structured, including lobby placement, guest rooms, and service areas. This activity helped us understand how design affects guest experience and operations.

Overall, the lesson and presentation gave us a better understanding of the lodging industry and how hotels are planned and managed.

We also had a sharing session where our classmates talked about their personal experiences and reviews of places they had visited. Some shared positive experiences like good service and comfortable stays, while others mentioned negative parts such as poor cleanliness or bad staff attitude. It was interesting to hear real stories and learn how reviews can affect a hotel’s image.

This week’s lesson helped us understand how innovation and guest feedback play a big role in the hospitality industry.

We also discussed some common challenges faced by the hotel, such as maintaining service quality in a remote area and meeting guest expectations. Our group explained how these challenges can be solved through proper staff training, using technology for smooth operations, and offering personalized guest experiences.

The presentation helped us understand how real hotels overcome problems in the hospitality industry.

My group, Group 7, created a Kahoot quiz about Chapter 2: Methods of Destination Promotion. It was a fun and interactive way to test our knowledge, and it helped everyone remember the key points better.

This activity also improved our teamwork and made revision more enjoyable.

It was a good way to review what we have learned so far and test our understanding of the topics.

My group chose Angsana Teluk Bahang Hotel and planned to interview Ms. Michelle, the Front Office Manager.

Madam Fadhlina gave us helpful feedback and made sure our project was on the right track before we continued with the interview.

I’m really grateful to my groupmates for their commitment and teamwork. Thanks to everyone’s effort and cooperation, we successfully used the remaining time to accomplish and submit the report on time.

Our group presented the findings from our interview, focusing on the leadership style of the hotel's front office manager. Although I felt nervous and scared to present in front of Madam Fadhlina and our classmates, it turned out to be a very rewarding experience.

We had prepared well, and I’m proud of how our group delivered the content confidently and clearly. After the presentation, there was a Q&A session where Madam Fadhlina and our friends asked thoughtful questions, which allowed us to explain our points further and learn even more.

Overall, it was a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

Towards the end of the lecture, there was a follow-up Q&A session where students, including myself, had the chance to ask questions and interact directly with the speaker. It was a great way to wrap up the session and gain a deeper understanding of the topic discussed.
